QuoteBack to personalities...  Is there anyone that would NOT recognize "King" Richard Petty?  NASCAR does a great job promoting personalities.  I'd bet know that racers I know missed Freddy Spencer and Kevin Schwantz at Road America.

I'm not a racer but...

I swear to god I would not recognize the Petty dude if he slammed me over the head with a bat.

However, I did see Schwantz on several occasions at RA.  I always try to make Stumpy "go say hi" and he gets mad at me  ;D.

I bet that s_minella guy didn't run at all. I know he didn't win 7 races. There is always some jackass that has to run his mouth on the board and not in person. Oh, yeh I forgot...... amateurs know it all.

As for James Chance the amatuer that was doing 17's.....  He is very fast. I give credit where credit is due. But on another note, he pulled some dumbass crap that weekend when he didn't need to. When you are like 20-30 seconds ahead of the 2nd place guys. There is no reason to pull crazy moves on lapped guys or experts you are passing.

Also DAWN..  if you decide to edit this... then just remove the whole thang.  Be a moderator not an editor in chief :P

I won't edit it because there is no reason to.  While I may find your language a bit harsh, I have not in the past edited a post just for that.

However, as a moderator, I will maintain the spirit of this board.  A board where one can come and talk about racing in an environment that is not offensive, crude or violent.  It is a judgement call, and it is mine.

Trey.... You were and amatuer once too.  If you knew it all then, you must know it all now too.

Freedom of speech guarantees that the Govn't won't shut you up. Doesn't mean that you are free to use private outlets in a way that the owners' don't like.

BTW: Don't anybody bring up the dog or you're likely to be bitten by the owner regardles of what sticks out of its (the dog's) collective arse.

Yellow plates know all.  White plates stayed out in the sun too long and periodically hit their heads hard enough to need a drive home; hence, they don't know what they used to.  In fact, why else would they keep spending their retirement?  A plea to the novices!!  Quit before it's too late!!!!!!!!

All right!  Now I'm offended.  I realize that this hasn't been my best year, but is it really necessary to attack me like this in a public forum? ;D
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

QuoteHowever, as a moderator, I will maintain the spirit of this board.  A board where one can come and talk about racing in an environment that is not offensive, crude or violent.  It is a judgement call, and it is mine.

Where are the posting guidelines for this board?  Most boards have a main section called "posting guidelines" that list what is/is not allowed to be posted.  It's then the moderators job to make sure everyone posting follows those guidelines.  That way it is clearly spelled out, and if someone posts something not allowed in the guidelines, the moderator can point out what was wrong with the post and refer to the board's guidelines.  It also gives the moderator more of a leg to stand on.  Without something like this, it's difficult for a moderator to back up a judgement call.  In that case, posters will argue "selective censorship" is taking place, since no clear guidelines exist for the board.

Just a suggestion that might help clear things up when these situations arise.
