Flying ants are tasty...with the wings removed at least.  Brian, are insects organic or only creatures with a skeletal system?  :spank:

Blarg! You've out-hippied me! :D Been wanting to do this for years, but the sheer amount of produce received would be overwhelming. Otherwise, I gravitate towards locally grown/made product.

My biggest pet peeve of the "organic" trend is that when places like Walmart start selling "organic" food, the regulations are sketchy and it's really not necessarily sustainable... in the end you're really just paying more for food that's not always that much better.

Also... I have internal battles all the time with justifying what I do for fun vs. trying to make responsible lifestyle choices. It helps to try to keep everything in a balance.

I'm with you on the balance thing.

Pinehold Farms was cool in that they offer shares for 1-2 people, which is rare for a CSA. I still got a bit more than we could use, so I'd give some to the neighbors. I wound up trying some foods (and liking them!) that I never would have served, so that was way cool.

I've got the info somewhere if you want it. But you need to be prepared to cook on a regular basis throughout the summer and fall.

Do or do not, there is no "try".

Life on our planet is carbon based. Yes, insects are a carbon based life form, therefore they are organic.
