Just called BW and the practice day for tomorrow is still on for those that need their track 'fix'

Shockingly...I received two calls from CCS to inform me!

I was told they were cancelling  the event "out of respect...like with 9/11."  Yeah...right!

So, you're not going, right? ;D

Me? No, I don't have to go on the track. I could give it up anytime I wanted to.

For anyone who got everything packed and ready to go or just want to race this weekend, there's a race in New Mexico at Arroyo Seco (about 5 hours from Phoenix).  The Formula Arroyo class has a good payout, last month it was $550 for first and paid back to 10th.  Saturday is a track day, and races are all on Sunday.  They also have a Supermoto race.  For more info: //www.asmaracing.com

I just email this to kevin.

Dear Kevin

The fires in southern California are a tragedy. Canceling this event is also a tragedy for CCS. From my understanding the event was canceled because the CCS crew was going to have a difficult time reaching the event. If anyone from the CCS has lost their house I'm truly saddened for them. Are you aware the AMA is still going to run there Supermotard event in Southern California?

This event was probably going to have one of the biggest turn outs so far for CCS pacific region. I know just about everyone the normally races CCS were going to be there. The AFM season is over and many AFMers were going to come out and give CCS a try. In fact I even got on one of the local forums last week and challenged many of the AFM racers to come down, If they were man enough.  I know of at least 10 AFMer that were going to make it. Who knows how many more that were going to come that I did not know about. Even on the AFM only forum, the guys that were planning on going are angry and talking.

One thing that bothers me is that the racers should have had a chance to put their input in. Brain Long, Jason Catchings and myself your top three guys in the pacific and your top guys in the southwest were all planning on going. Yet none of us were contacted asking what we thought. We along with all of the racers spend a lot of money every race weekend and have sacrificed other things in our lives to race and go after the points race. This could effect many racers championships that they have worked so hard for all year long. This personally could effect me from keeping my third place for the overall championship. This race should be rescheduled.

I'm concerned for the future of CCS. I personally have put a lot of effort and money into CCS hoping that the organization would turn thing around. CCS has lost many of there racers to other organizations and I'm afraid that CCS will continue to do so. CCS has a lot of offer racers but I feel that we are the last to know and are an annoyance to CCS. Yet we are the ones spending the money that supports the races.

If you are noticing that I'm a little frustrated I am. Its not just this race but things like the points taking months to get updated and when they are there wrong. (I'll be sending another separate email about that my points are wrong.) I know that CCS is a for profit organization but if a organizations does not keep it customers happy then there is never going to be any profit.

I do not want to just have a complaint and not have any input. I know that the CCS staff is short handed. A thought for next year that I think would benefit the racer and also benefit CSS would be to set up a board of racers or racers reps that could take concerns and solutions to CSS and be heard. These racers reps would be volunteers that could be the voice of the racers. Then once a month the racers concerns could then be presented you CCS in a organized manner. This could take some of the load of you guys. I for one would volunteer.

I would like to see CCS grow but if something does not happen soon the CCS is not going to make. I personally do not know one racer that races in the CCS that is not frustrated with the organization right now.

Sincerely
Garth Dillon

Ya know, the fire bruned to within a half mile of my house, and I for one weas looking foreward to this weekend as an escape from the fires and stress that they have brought on myself and my family this week past.

I will however be at BW on friday, and I am quite sure that BW will have a trackday on sat and sunday if there is enough interest.

Everyone knows that CCS cancelled the event 'cuz they found out that I wasn't going to be there.  ;D

This actually HELPS my points lead in my classes (SW anyways).

See you all at Firebird.   ;D

Warren and Les were nice enough to run both friday and sat for us all to practice.

They also informed us that there will be no make up round at BW this year.

Will CCS run at BW next year?
