I'd look on my bike to see which it is (my number is a 5 digit number) but its stored behind my street bike and covered right now (along with both bikes being used as a shelf  )

Don't know all the details other than they used to run combined weekends of trackday saturday with CCS racing Sunday.  They started their own race series and have been branching away from CCS ever since.  Last year they used the CCS rulebook and now have drafted their own.  Last year they ran a fairly successful season of 8 twin sprint style weekends held at Heartland Park, Gateway, and Putnam Park. The race classes were similar to GTO/GTU, Lightweight classes, and sportsman class.

I've been in contact with several of their board members and they have said without doubt that the weekend at Gateway on the midwest CCS schedule is not happening.  They already have the track rented that weekend and are not interested in doing a combined weekend.

MCRA's relationship with CCS is really very good. In our part of the Midwest region, turn outs for sprint races have been pretty sad for various reasons like the poor economy and the cost of fuel. Its hard for any organization to justify losing money to keep a regional sprint championship alive for a few guys and gals. As usual the east coast, west coast and Texas get great turn outs for their races. They always have for obvious reasons. MCRA will be sending air fence to the CCS round at Heartland. Some members are going to Daytona to work corners and other jobs for CCS. MCRA's GT races pay CCS points for the midwest region (except GTU). I have no reason to believe that our relationship has been soured.

As far as the rule book goes...MCRA runs "hybrid" style weekends. A combination of track day and races. Our new 250 class is "superbike" class just for the CBR and Ninja 250's only, so just using the CCS rule rulebook to govern our weekends doesn't cover it all. MCRA gets all of its purse and contingency on their own so we feel it is indeed an MCRA series and we are proud to say we are affiliated with CCS.
MCRA does not run sprint style races. We run 25min timed GT races combined with track day 20 min sessions.

I hope people can understand that MCRA is a non-profit organization run by volunteers. The board of directors is run by volunteer motorcycle enthusiasts. Last season was successful and we wish we could do another big season, we simply don't have the volunteers to make it happen. If any of you have been a part of a club of volunteers, you know that its always the same 4 or 5 people doing everything. Its sometimes easy for us to want more or think the club should be doing it differently but, unless your in the room or doing the work yourself you couldnt possibly be informed enough to make your opinions public.

MCRA will be making an official announcement about our 2013 season with all the details about purse, contingency and the weekend schedule very soon. We will have some exciting news about the bigger purse and tire contingency's for this season. Stay tuned!

I stand corrected, the impression I got was that there was something else that stopped the combined weekends but looks like I was wrong.

I was told by the CCS office that the Gateway round points would not count towards MW championship. It'd be nice if we could get some clarification so we can make plans. Personally I'm not interested in running the Gateway round if the only class are GT and the points don't count

You dont have to come to Gateway! The latest from CCS is there are no points given to the Mid West GT championship on the MCRA weekends.  Sorry for the misinformation.

MCRA does value their relationship with CCS and look forward to working with them in the future.

Will CCS reciprocate on MCRA licenses?
