Yeah, I'm leaving right now...LOL!

Safety First Racing got a slow start waiting for some things coming out of customs, but they will be ready.

I'm anxious to race the new track on the slow vintage bikes as I think I'll be able to make up some of the disadvantage of no top speed against some of the faster bikes.

Ask me what I think Wednesday...LOL!

Hi Mike  :)

Daytona rules.  This ain't your grandfather's Daytona, that's for sure.  This new track is SO much better... WAY more technical.  Decreasing radius turns everywhere.  I dig it.  Wish I could afford to run more than 1 class while down here  :(

We won Team Challenge GTU  ;D  I don't know how... but we did, and we'll take it!

Anywho... time for dinner... later all.

Do or do not, there is no "try".

Oh yeah... and the Factory Yamaha boys came out to play this weekend, too.

Yes, yes, I got passed by Aaron Gobert going into T1 in practice this morning.  Now who wants to touch me??

Alright, one of you down there has to have the laptop and a wifi hotspot!  I mean it's not like your busy or rushed, right?  Anyway, let's see some results... I don't think CCS is going to have them up anytime soon (or will I be surprised?)
I'm going to try to drag the wife down there and make her watch for one day...

new track is growing on me...takes a while getting used to the tightness of the infield.  let's just say I'm happy I'm running an SV and not Gixxer Thou...

most crashes have happened in the Intl Horseshoe and the Chicane.  Geoff May saved a highside coming out of the Horseshoe that was stunning.  just brilliant to keep it upright.

and yeah the factory Yamaha guys are sick.

Hi Bret.  I got internet access too.  But I have to wait until the end of the day, like now.  Hell of weekend, huh?

I like the new configuration.  I'm not the fastest guy on an SV, but I can hang with the bigger bikes (and even get held up) in the infield.  This is my first time at Daytona ever and I'm happy to run a fastest lap of  2:02.4 with just Friday's and today's practices and races.  I may have done one faster in Supertwins, but like Barber last year it's taking a while for grids, results, and lap times to be posted.

WebCrush

heh, i managed a 1:52 yesterday.  That used to be a respectable time on the 'old' configuration. :D

I talked to Mike Bird on the phone last night and he said that Calvin Martinez and crew took second in the team challenge, and that yesterday was the first decent weather day getting into the 70's. For Wisconsinites, anything above 40 must seem nice though. It's been 50's and 60's in S Carolina for weeks. What does snow look like again? ;D ;D
