The Wegman Fund has been hit through PayPal with unauthorized bank transfers.  The name used is Thomas Baxley with an email address of chunkeymonkey1296@yahoo.com.

Does anyone know who this is? I know I've seen this email before and I'm pretty sure it was on a racing forum but don't remember which one.

Any information would be appreciated.

Chuck

That is unbelievable.  I can't believe a racer of all people would do something like that.  There has to be a way police can track down that yahoo account.

Gordy,

That absolutely sucks!!!!  I checked out Yahoo's site and they won't release any information without a request from law inforcement (make sense).

I also checked out Pay Pal's site.  CALL THEM IMMEDIATELY if you haven't done so already.  Here's their contact information:

Gordy, a couple things I would do (I have no experience here, just basic knowledge & common sense).

1.  Call your bank on file with PayPal and stop all transactions.  Your linked bank account could quickly be drained.

2.  Do the same for any/all credit cards you have on the paypal account.

3.  Call PayPal and notify them.

4.  You'll want to open some legal complaint/report somewhere.  I just don't know what the correct entity would be.  Talk to PayPal, they should know.

People, don't jump to the conclusion that this is a Racer or Rider, or anyone who even has a clue who Gordy or the Wegman is.  It's most likely just some d1ck who scammed the username & password.

The moral of this story (not sure if this is what happened, but nonetheless).  Every email you get from "PayPal" or "Ebay" indicating your account is frozen, etc, IS A SCAM!  Regardless of how it looks/feels.  If you have doubt, fwd the email to spoof@paypal.com or spoof@ebay.com as applicable and they will verify authenticity.

I have contacted everyone already and froze all accounts.

PayPal said they will refund the money but I still want to try to find out who this is.

Beautiful!

I don't know that you'll have any luck with getting a name/person.  THe person will probably be caught as the papertrail is very good on transactions like this, but I don't knwo that you'll ever find out who it is/was...

If you ever do catch this guy, it would be a real service to all racers if you
POST THE FINK"S NAME AND ADDRESS!
Just, you know, so we can avoid dealing with him.... >:(
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

Yeah, my wife is still holding out that this is just a mistake and all will end well. I wish I could have that outlook on life. Rose tinted glasses and all.

When and if I ever get to the bottom of this and find out who it is I will definitely let everyone know so they can deal with him in their own terms. I know I hold a special place in my heart for any thief. Especially someone that steals from the Wegman.

Should this turn out to be a "mistake" I will apologize profusely for calling the guy a thief. Until then I will continue to try to hunt this guy down.

Supposed to go sat to blasta few deer. Choices on which 'toy' to take. My AR, my .300win, my .30-30 or the .50.  ;D The 50 is nice. It guts and cleans in teh same shot :o. BUT its 45lbs and 38" barrel and isnt fun to lug around. Plus one shot will scare every living thing within 3/4 mile. ;D Plus I feel sorry for anything in he path of that 600gr soft point. ;D
