Hey gang! I know it's been *forever* since I've posted but I've been kind of busy wrenching  ::)

I'd really appreciate opinions on this project (good AND bad)...
Here's the low down, my 2000 SV racer got stolen (10-2), I picked up this 2002 wreck at the junk yard 1 week later (last saturday).

The tail section is toast, I never liked that area of the bike anyway so I want to replace it with the tail off a Kawi H1 and a custom sub-frame. I haven't figured out what I'm going to do with the big empty spaces yet but with the sub-frame, battery, exhaust, etc in place I'll probably be able to hang some aluminum mesh over those areas... The yard had already sold off the headlight and insturments so I fabricated some brackets out of 1/8" aluminum diamond plate and mounted up a headlight from a 76 CB350. The headlight is higher up and further out than stock. I'll be using a bicycle speedo and auto-meter tach with a custom housing for the indicator lights (probably in the headlight housing).

The goal is to have a bike that is fashionable, will ride 2 up and easily convert back to track use...

I kind of liked that rockin' high pipe.  :o ;) ;D It might get a bit loud on the ears, so I can see why you removed it. Have fun with the project and keep us updated.

I considered trying to contact the previous owner to ask him how he did that... I decided not to 'cuz if he's dead I don't think I want to know  :o

ARE YOU REALLY GONNA USE THAT H2 TAIL ? YOU COULD GET $50 BUCK ON E BAY FOR THAT BAD BOY!!! HEHE HAVE FUN WITH THAT COOL LITTLE TOY.

Super Dave

Stop YELLING!

Don...neat!

I was going to say...if you need any H1 pieces...I've got them all over.

Parts aren't worth much, unfortunately, unless they are perfect.

If you have some ideas on some things that you might need, H1 wise...drop me a note...they aren't doing me much good.  They aren't going on my H1 road racer.

I THINK THAT ITS A H2 72 -73 PIECE THE 500 H1 ONLY HAD A TAIL IN 74 UP WHICH WAS A LITTLE MORE ROUNDED. BUT I MIGHT NOT BE RIGHT. I LOVE THOSE OLD TWO STROKES.
DAVE,WHY DONT YOU RACE YOUR H1 ANY MORE?

Super Dave

Actually, I have never raced my H1.  It's not finished.

Maybe AHRMA at Daytona in March?

There are lot so variations on the Kaw Triples.

The late model chassis came out in 1973 with the H1D...which had the H2 style ignition.  There were two '72 models...one had drum brakes and CDI ignition, the other had a disc front with points.  Then there was the KH500...chassis was a little different again.  Tail might be from something a little later like a KH.  Regarless, the sharp lines look good.

What are you gonna use for pipes? I need an idea for an h2 project im thinking of doing.....I saw the room busting my balls in the girl racer forum and thought id try to "not yell" hehe

Super Dave

I have two sets of Kevin Cameron pipes.

One is from 1974.

The other set was built in 1995 and apparently won't drag.  They wll be the ones I'll use.

If you get a chance send me a pic when there on the bike. Id love to see how they make them tucked good enough to not drag!
