WERA thread needs straigtened out about Tez

Basically the same on a few other boards I frequent. BFD if he is friends with Mr Jordan and he is sponsoring Tez. THats between them. I dont understand why some people seem to think because of who owns the team, that Tez should be in the top 5 every race. Then the BS about, "He shouldnt be racing there", "He sucks", "He only got that ride because he is MJ's friend", yadda yadda yadda. Some people are just complete dolts.

I agree, Tez and Jordan can do whatever they want, it is a free country.  Every one wants to make it big time, but his attempt at making up for lack of speed by going bonzai into turn 1 at mid-ohio and taking out two guys... unacceptable.  True fast guys do it smooth as glass, kamikaze only gets you a helicopter ride to the hospital.

he lost the front and hit 1 guy, and the other ran off the track. There is a difference if he just go straight ahead and t-bones one guy. I don't really see it being "bonzai" move, I guess you have never started a race in the back of a 30+ people field all trying to go fast right? If you want to see 30+ people ride around safely and not make any mistakes, I don't know what to tell ya... if someone can ride well within his limits and qualify for a AMA national, I say push closer to the limit and finish up front!

Make up for lack of speed? If everyone who is lacking speed should stay lacking speed then we should all quit and pick up chess instead.

I don't know that I'd say the WERA boyS (plural) need to be straightened out.  It was only one person who typed in all caps.  Jeezus, I can't take anyone serious who types in all caps in this day and age...

Bottom line, Tez might not be that AMA-fast, but he's out there improving and doing pretty well IMHO.  I don't think Jordan expected podium finishes, or he'd have bought known talent.

A little info on Tez. Yes, he is sponsored by Jordan, but he and Casmay run the team. It's incrediblely difficult to run at any pro level, especially the classes Tez runs in AMA. (Supersport and Superstock). Doing as well as he has been has been a struggle.

Tez is fortunate to have really good machines under him, but he came in to the AMA with a bit of a handicap being a respectably fast regional CCS rider. Aside from Road America, if Tez had been to even one other track on the circuit, I'd be surprised. Throw in the new track learning curve for any rider and I'm sure you can appreciate the difficulties involved in getting through the qualifying not to mention attemping to be competitive in that crowd of riders.

Tez has been hampered with two injuries, one from Daytona (broken shoulder), and one later in the season (broken wrist). I'm sure Tez feels great frustration not being able to ride to his fullest capacity due to repeated injuries.

With good fortune comes great responsibility. Tez is trying to be the best ambassador for the sport possible. Judging from the response at Road America, he's doing very well with that.

Anyone who roadraces at any level has to be commended for their accomplishments. It's a much more complex sport than it appears on the surface. Having one of the local fast boyz make good has got to be one of the coolest things to see. Their goal was to qualify well and compete, and they've succeeded. I'm sure the next goal is to become competitive next year. To do that WITHOUT factory support would be no less than awesome.
