QuoteI guess I love my cats like most people love their human children.

Sorry to hear about your pet.   :'(  I can totally relate.  No kids, but 2 rescued greyhounds that practically are our "kids."  I'd probably do the same if I were in your place.

Good luck with the drag racing, and I look forward to your next season's race reports!   :)

QuoteI guess a big part of it is that I miss you all so much.  Racing has been such an obsession for me that I really don't have many friends outside the CCS circle.

Yeah, that's the trick.

No one to share the silliness that we do with.  I have good neighbors, I have to say.  But you can't share what you do with the track with them a whole lot.  Just doesn't make sense to the real world.

Went back to MAM and stayed in Omaha with my dad and sister.  ran into a lot of people that I worked with, in motorcycle racing, there.  Those friends never go away.

Sad part is that some friends leave and drop their contact with you and the rest of the group.  Seen that a lot over many, many years.

I have quite a few great friends outside of motorcycling, but I imagine I bore them to tears sometimes.  I could have lunch with Vale Rossi and they wouldn't give a squat.   :P

QuoteChris,

Any time you want to come play on a turn with your brothers and sisters at MARRC just let me know. I'll make sure you're on the gate list.

Thanks!  You guys are Southeast, right?  I'm more of a Midwest guy, living in Chicago, but who knows?  I have as many friends on the corners as I do on track.  Heck, I actually taught the beginner school to what are now some of our best workers, back in the days before I "Just decided to try racing for one weekend." :D
It's been so bad on the money front that I can't even make it out to corner work.  Gas prices are just killing me.  I drive 100 miles a day, so it seems that my race budget is now being spent just commuting to work!  I did corner work once this year, and it was just as much fun as when I'd left it.  (Even if I did say RED over the radio!) :-[
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

Mid atlantic.  Summit Point is our exclusive track.

If you make it this way I live about 15-20 minutes from the track. Would have no problem putting you up for the weekend. We're right off I-81.

I hear ya on the commute thing. I am currently commuting 120 miles round trip.  I am trying to find something a little closer to home.  Ahhh the cost of living in the sticks (and the cost of living in horse country)..

cheers!

Wow!  Thanks!  Maybe...

Kim, if you send on Saturday or Monday, it should be here in time. That'd be great!

Sorry Kim to hear about your critters  :(
Depressed! Ugh! You have no idea what depressed is..im waiting a knee surgery right now, ACL and meniscus...been down for over a month now....i look at my bike...dust it off...think about how i am 2nd in 125GP points leading overall for SW...scratch my head...have a beer, or two..say to myself," Awww, I can still do it!!" Then, my friends intervine, "your crazy, and stupid if you ride, one little mistake and then you are in for bigger trouble!" So, here I sit, surfing the net at midnight...just got done playing MotoGP for an hour...ummm....next?
I think my new signature should be...
What's life, without risk??  ;D
And for all of you who "can" ride....RIDE!! RIDE!!  ;)

Okay Chris and you other upset peeps.  I have this personality weakness that drives me to try to fix everything.  Accordingly, I found this ebay item that maybe you should try...

I don't quite understand the description, but a "life force enhancer" sounds like...well, at least you'd have that going for you... ;D ;)

Hmm, I am not sure, but I would guess it must be something with the word "enhance" in it!

 ;D ;D

BTW Don, I get a lot of spam with that word in it. Let me know if you are interested and I can forward them to you...

Don't give up on your dreams! If an illiterate like K3 can write a book, imagine what you can do!

dylanfan53

What was I searching for? Heck, I dunno. I spend half my time on the internet just trying to remember why I logged on the first place and how I ever got to where I am!  ;D ;D
Thanks for the spam forwarding offer Edgar.  I think it's about 20 years too late though. It would only get me in trouble now. ;D
