"~Events held on Shenandoah Circuit~"

we are scheduled to run the new track for Sept and Oct ...and SCCA is scheduled on the main. Seems to me like aren't that important to Summit Point...and CCS just let this all happen??? if the new track isn't ready for the 2 fall events...that's 3 races we'll loose out on....doesn't seem right   >:(

I definatly have to agree, about the track probably not being ready. and it does suck we would be out three events this year. Ohh and what I really love is georgia, and ALABAMA being on the MID_ATLANTIC schedule. ALABAMA is over 500 miles away from the atlantic ocean let alone the mid atlantic. good call on that one !!!

I'm looking forward to alabama. Its more that 500 miles for me but we'll make a game out of it. I'cant wait!!!!!!!!!  45 feet wide, blind turns, the thrill of learning a new track.

The embarrassing and incompetent practice of scheduling races at tracks not even built is becoming  the GEM in the CCS crown. For the past 3 years they have successfully fucked up their mid-atlantic schedule by following this practice. I particularly like how they will not put together a back up plan for these weekends. WERA scheduled a Shenandoah race last year, but had a back up date set at the main course.

But these complaints are not even the tip of the iceberg. The most embarrassing aspect of this practice is scheduling motorcycle races at a track that they have no idea will be safe for motorcycles. I have walked Shenandoah and it is barely suitable in some places for YSR-50 races. Concrete walls and Jersey barriers are everywhere, no run off, bedrock and exposed rock in places that could be considered run off, and last but not least is the 180 degree bowl turn with a 30 degree incline (as in if you fuck up, the turn becomes a ramp ala "Evel Knievel") make up the safety features of this track.

Still, I do hope that I am looking at parts of the track that will not be used for motorcycles and I have mis judged the layout of the unfinished track. But still it does not dismiss the ignorance of scheduling races at track you do not know to be safe.

My current opinion is Shenandoah isn't even close.

The opinion of the shifter cart racers are that they will not race there.

And lastly I had some of the MARRC people look at the track, and there opinion was motorcycles will not race there.

Maybe someone from CCS should have walked over to the new track while at the last Formula weekend. Or is that too much to expect?
