Summit Point and CCS said today that it is still scheduled.  However, summit advised that they are crossing their fingers that the track will be ready and they are doing everything in their ability to ensure that it will be ready.  They did not sound optimistic the track would be ready so better make plan B

durring the ccs races at least, the big track is occupied, shenendoah or nothing

The section of track where pictures 9, 10, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 12 were taken is not part of the race course we can use. It is for tactical training only, as per zoning restrictions.

There is no possibility of moving the July event to the main course at Summit as was originally scheduled, the SCCA bumped us from the main course when it became appearent that there was a possibility of the track not being ready by July 15. SPR still assures me that the racing portions of the  track will be ready by then, but we will decide for certain before the next race at VIR.

The track may still be completed on time and the event still cancelled, since we cannot certify the facility race-ready until the course is completed.

Sorry I can not give you any more information than that at this time.

Any more info? Do you have a drop dead date?

There are concrete barriers EVERYWHERE and so close to the track!
Need paint or  Race / Track bodywork?  PM or email me at dcpaintworx@gmail.com for pricing on Armour Bodies bodywork.

From looking at the pictures, that is going to be a car track. It really doesn't look suitable for bikes with all the barriers. Next year it may be alot easier to get dates on the main so that's good. If it is done, maybe SCCA will swap back.

am I reading that article wrong but it sounds to me like they orginally had all the event planned for the new track ?? And in September the plans are to race on the new track not  on summit main/?

r6_philly

thats what it sounded like but I thought it was otherwise. Nonetheless I still have yet to see a new track around us getting built and used. I am doubting still whether it will be ready for Sept. We will see. I guess we all going to Barber now

we are scheduled to run the new track for Sept and Oct ...and SCCA is scheduled on the main. Seems to me like aren't that important to Summit Point...and CCS just let this all happen??? if the new track isn't ready for the 2 fall events...that's 3 races we'll loose out on....doesn't seem right   >:(
