Quoteactually it is the will to stop being scared. yes I admit I am racing scared.

<snip>

I was driving home with a lot of pain, and thinking about how I lost that switch that turns you on to "race mode". So I need to find that switch or not come to races. I had it briefly before I went off. I was on a mission to go fast in practice (And you all know I hate morning practices).

i'll be back  8)

I've been down the road you are on right now.  Some folks totally walk away.  Some don't.  if it's not fun for you make sure you are ready to come back.

After I got injured a few years ago (Speedbump to a GSXR600, abdomen gashed open nicely, stitches, tubes sticking out...looks of cool shit.) It took nearly a year to really come back on my pace and get my aggression up.  Part of that was due to the fear of landing on that side...the traumatized area had no skin level sensation...but slap it in I hit the roof.  So part of that ws fear of pain.

From what I've heard of you and read here...you'll put the demons down and find your pace.  Sometimes it just takes the wrong guy passing you to piss you off and suddenly you find the 'GO' switch.

Good luck.

hey peanut, what did you end up running for lap times. (just to give me a ball park to shoot for when im down there, although i probably wont be racing there until the end of the season).

i ran 18's and 19's.  i've only been into the 18's once before so running a few in most races was a big improvement for me.

if you can run 18's most laps and get a good start you can do some damage right now in the 600 classes.  i would think 18's with dips into the 17's would be needed soon on the regional level.  17's with possible dips into the 16's will be needed on the big bikes. (these are opinions so don't quote me.)

i'm thinking when the big boys show up at the end of the month you need to get your 16's and lower on or be blown away....lol.

i think matt wait actually hit 14's last year.. but it may have been 15's.. either way that is just fucking nuts.

my best is in the high 1:20's. ive run 2 race weekends there total of 5 races. i ran my fastest time in my last race with the cords showing so im hoping for some 19's when i get down there next. i dont think id be lucky enough to pull any 18's, but i got big elbows so maybe i can get in front of you and keep you back there. ;) j/k

That was unreal!  We were in the turn 4 bleachers and watched him slide both wheels through 4 and back it into turn 5 for 30 laps.  During his cool down, he got a major standing ovation from all of us.

My husband, during that race said, "well, if anyone wants to know the fastest way around summit point, apparently that's it."  :o

Quoteif i hit the wall i don't think that i would have been able to come back as quick as you have, fwiw. ?0,,2don't under estimate some crashes affect on you. ?0,,2i'm still slow out of turn 1 getting on the gas after highsiding there 2 seasons ago, and your get off was 10 times worse.

the season is still very young.

you still rode well ., for coming from crashed ., like peanut said., it takes a while to get back to full speed....  do not let it get to you . ,just get back out and ride the track , not other guys , at first to get the grove back on...

btw i was #989 pitted right next to you !!  you really did not do as bad as it seems., and does suck about the bike... but you are in one piece !!!!

Matt Wait was turning 14's...I was in the bleachers on the outside of T10 with my jaw dropped everytime I saw him come over the hill and just crush it thru 10.  He's just wrong! ;D

now I notice the "off the wall racing"  ;D you guys seem to make out ok and had fun. Wouldn't be so friendly if we had burned your canopies down  :D

I know it takes time, just taking too long for my taste. and hitting snags like my face plant isn't helping. Bike is not too bad, all I need to buy is a windscreen. Everything else is fixed now. Well my beautiful new tank took a beating... well thats what I get for getting a brand new bike to race.

you know I was watching your video that night and keep saying to myself "this doesn't look like me" I really not riding like how I rode. I need to work that out. This year is killing my confidence and pride. Now that I got that first crash on the new bike out of the way, maybe I can go faster now  8)

he was at VIR too, he was right next to me in all the races, remember when my grids got screwed up???
I know all about crashing hard, i crashed at VIR last season and it put me out of commission for the rest of the season, i broke both ankles, right wrist and hand.  and i'm back, I'm not 100% but i'm trying to ease onto the season.... mental block is a Bit###, we had a blast this weekend that's for sure!!!

at least you got to meet the craziest of the crew already. some of those offthewall guys are nucking futs. ;D

I have an opportunity to ride as much as I can at trackdays, so I am probably going to focus on riding better and getting faster, instead of racing, until I get back up to old speed. While it is always fun to race, the pressure of doing as well as I "potentially" can and not having able to do so, really take some fun out of it and put a lot of stress on myself. I am going back to Summit on Monday, and have another weekend coming up in june. I was going to make it to the FUSA weekend, but I may just skip that one. Last year I busted my butt getting there to race only to come home with a broken butt (lol that was my big crash) so this year instead of sharing my vacation and the weekend the same trip, I may just take the vacation instead.

I am going to be doing 18's at summit by the end of the year :) or I am going back to the yellow plates  ;D :D ;)
