For the first time ever, I pre-registered for a race.
Topeka to be exact.

CCS managed to charge my CC but also managed to loss my registration!
I call them up the day after and I was assured that the matter would be cleaned up quickly (2 days). So I left things at that.
Well the end of the week rolls up, still have not been credited for the lost registration, but everyone is away at an event.
Okay call back Tuesday....
I am told it was being taken care of that day (now over a week has past).
As of Today, they have still not made good on their mistake  :-/

Well I am a shoestring racer... To quote K3 from MAM, "You have to love a race, who budget is so tight he can't afford a cooler for his beer".

Normally I would not be as mad about something like this as I am now. However, I am doing a contract job in NY next week and CCS's mistake is causing me trouble as I can't choke up that insane rental car fees unless they credit my CC back...

I know I am venting... but I believe I have every right to vent in this situation!

They may have sent the request for the credit refund to the company, but the company may not have processed it yet.

It can take some time (up to a week or 10 days I think) for the credit to process.  I bought some helmets some time back and it took a while for it to show up in my account.

I had a Fuddruckers restaurrant double charge my card once.  I called the restaurant the next day and they told me to go to my bank and dispute it and I did, got the refund on the spot!  Try it if you have CC through your bank.

Hey Xian, are you from Richland Center? Mind if I look you up at RA to see how things squared up?

Jeff

Call your CC company and have them reverse the charge.  After a few simple questions, they will do it immediately.  The CC company is on YOUR side.

This shouldn't cause CCS any issues as if they try to issue a refund, it will register as already being a voided transaction.  (unless of course they don't reference the initial transaction in their refund.)

In 2002, I arrived at MAM pre-entered.  CCS had lost my pre-entries, and I had to pay again.  Since I had used my Mom's card and didn't have it with me, I had to use the cash I had brought planning to pre-enter for the NEXT race.  (Thank God I HAD the cash, or I would have driven from Chicago to Omaha for nothing!)  This screw-up meant starting from the back two weekends in a row.  In the end, there was a championship that I lost by just a few points.  Better grid positions MIGHT have made the difference...  (but you never know what the racing Gods have in store.)
Last year I arrived at the final race in St. Louis and was left off the F40 grid.  I had pre-entered this race in January!  They included me, but again I started last.  Fortunately, all I had to do that weekend was complete one lap to seal the championship, so I wasn't quite as mad.
I guess what I'm saying is that this is a pretty common occurance with CCS.  I have found that the safest thing to do is to pre-enter for future weekends at the track, have the registrar xerox you a copy, and have her date and initial it.  Keep this as a recipt, and if your stuff gets lost they can't deny you or take your grid positions.  (Kinda sad to have to take such precautions, but after five years I've come to expect these things.)
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

Check THIS out!  I pre-entered the NESBA day at Road America.  They sent me an e mail telling me that I was confirmed, complete with a waiver containing all my info that I just print, sign, and bring to registration.  How easy is that?  At least I know before I leave home that they haven't lost my money and will be letting me ride...
I wish CCS had a similar setup.

It is extremely easy to send out a confirmation email.  The CCS site isn't doing that?
