Yeh, I thought the AMA required you to be an expert and have a certain amount of expert points? ???

r6_philly

do a search on the forum with the words "AMA" "license" and "amateur". This has been talked about many times. You can get a AMA license if you are an EX, just have to know how to do it, how you have been finishing, who you are...

motodirty

You can be an amatuer last year and still get an AMA license.  Except for Superbike.  Someother young kid did the samething a year ealier.  Can't remember his name but he raced in the supersport race too.

Joe Ford

and I can list about 10 more names in the last 2 years

not to belittle myers but looks like the draft sucked him into the chicane and he crashed. If the AMA would stick to there guns you would need the 100 points as an expert to get the license and the expierence of earning 100 points in expert races probably would have helped myers.

100 pts is pretty easy  hell ive earned over that in one race as a expert even though it was double points.

This is a guy who won 4 nationals in one day at daytona last year, to contest to his ability. Are you saying because he was am. thats why he crashed? The guy was running mid teens in a race where there were fourty/fifty riders in his first ama race. so roadrashroeser, If I were you, I wouldn't take about things you don't know about.

As for steve, you don't have enough points to go ama. The points system is based on ama points system, not ccs.

So it is up to AMA to help us learn how to ride now? How do you know he got sucked into the chicane, how can you tell from a video angle from in the chicane? that seems to be presuming a whole lot.

I guess we should send Aaron Yates back to the AM too, cuz the years he raced pro didn't help him any  ;D

And for Meyers, if you get sucked in, you can always go straight.
