Any experienced St. Louis based racers willing to help me out with some tech stuff?  Changing suspension springs?  Suspension setup?  Balancing tires?  What race class I should be in?  Filling out the forms in advance?  Anything else that you are willing to help with?

Well, if you can't find any love locally, I'm a mere 5 hours up the road in Kankakee Illinois.
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

I don't live there anymore, but there are a lot of racers in Columbia that can probably help you out or pit with you at the races.   I'll be at a few after school gets out in May.  I'll send tigerblade an email, he lives in Columbia, I doubt he can do much for you though, he lucky to get his bike to run a full race without shutting off.  ;D

I'm not real experienced only 3 race weekends, but I'll help as much as I can.

As far as balancing tires....are you planning on mounting them yourself?  They balance them at the track for you when you buy them (included in price).

Its funny that I haven't even set the sag on my bike!  :o  LOL, but I do plan on doing all that on the trackday at Gateway in May (that will be my first race this year).

As far as class, what bike are you planning on running (sorry, slipped my mind).  If its a 600, you can pretty much run everything but lightweight classes.

Filling out the forms is easy, just print them from CCS' site and send them in.  Last year they had an online syem, not sure if they are going to have that this year or not.

Have you taken your racing school yet?

Hey, I grew up in St. Louis.  Just don't live there anymore.  It's all 'bout that U-City thang.

I've been racing for about 3 years now.  I no longer live in St. Louis, but I know that the folks at Donelson usually support a small group of local racers.  That's where I started on my motorcycling path back in 1994 as a corner worker when they had the old Gateway race track.  Man was that a track to behold!  Why don't you call them up and get some names.

Man, I forgot all about the MCRA at Dupo.  I go to the meetings the first Tuesday for the Euro club.  I will have to make it over there for MCRA.
I plan on attending Topeka, Gateway, Barber, and BHF minimum.  Bike is SV 650.
Still would like some in person help.
Thanks,
Rich

When you come to Blackhawk... head over to the bunch parked around the power pole across from the tower.  You'll meet K3, the Buxtons and a whole mess of folks who will make you feel right at home!
CCS AM 815... or was that 158?

I'll be calling.  I too live in St. Charles.
Here is an example of a problem I had tonight.  Looking at the registration form the price was marked with an "X".  What does that X mean?

Also,  regarding Formula 40, do you have to be 40 the day of the race or is there a little give and take.  I won't be 40 until May 15  (Gatewya is May 16th ;D).  Was hoping to race in Topeka in March.
