QuoteAlso,  regarding Formula 40, do you have to be 40 the day of the race or is there a little give and take.  I won't be 40 until May 15  (Gatewya is May 16th ;D).  Was hoping to race in Topeka in March.

Ask K3. He knows all about this rule. ;D

Ah yes.  The F39.5 rule.  Well........  To make a long story short, you must be 40 on raceday to compete.  That rule was supposed to be changed last year to allow you to compete the full season if your birthday fell in the first six months of the season.  It took forever for CCS to get the rule books to us, so I had called Kevin Elliot to confirm that the new rule was indeed in place.  He said it was, so I pre-entered F40 for the year and went racing.  Then the rulebook came out and the change wasn't in there.  Oh $#it!  Screaming, hollering, b!%@#ing, moaning, protesting, appealing...
Bottom line is that I will be the only F39.5 champ in CCS history, and now the language has been strenghtened in the other direction to make darn sure you're at least 40 if you race that class.
Honestly, I feel ashamed about last year.  I know in my heart that the six weeks of extra youth I rolled into the season with was an unfair advantage... ;)
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

I'm not "experienced" but you'll find a lot of people are willing to lend a hand at the track.  You should probably at least have someone help you set the sag on your suspension if you haven't already before you get to the track, then the rebound/compression can be done easily once you get there.
