I was wondering what are the fast guys consistently lapping at firebird East? Also where's a good place to eat around there?

For amateur or expert? I think experts were doing 59's maybe 58's and am's were doing 1:04 at the fastest.

As far as eating and sleeping near the track- there is about 25 restaurants (mostly chains) and 10 hotels within 8 miles of the track.  You should have plenty of options and choices.  I fyou are searching for hotels on the internet, do not use Phoenix as the city, use Chandler instead it will put you closer to the track.

i was doing high 101s and low 102s as a amature which was about 2 seconds off the lap record

Yeah Brian, but you were WAY out ahead of the Am field! LOL

It was great to see you run last year, hope to see you at the track for some nationals this year!

That's right, I forgot about you Brian, "the amateur". Good luck this year bro!

My best lap times last year as an amateur were low 1:04's. My teamate Rod Sherman ran into the 1:02's. The fastest expert times I recall were in the low 1:59's by Mark Ledesma.

I was waiting for your response Wehrli!  I think he was saying you are full of shit!  It's funny how once we got transponders everyone's record lap times have gone up a little bit.

I'm pretty sure I was running in the 1:03s on my Ducati as an amatuer at the beginning of the season.  Only ran my Suzuki once there (last SW race) and started the weekend doing 1:08s (yikes).  Finally started getting used to the thing by the end of the weekend and got down to a high 1:03.

I think the track might have been a little quicker before they resurfaced it . . . or whatever they did to it.  I think Mark L, Scott J, and Rory were in the 59s at the beginning of the year.  At the last race I think the fastest lap was in the 1:00s.

So Brian doing high 1:01s as an amatuer when the fastest experts were doing 1:00s was damn fast and would have put him pretty high up the expert grid.

Are you racing SW or MW this year Brian?

What are your plans this year Wehrli?  Gonna see you down here at Firebird in a few weeks?  I'm still running a yellow plate so I guess I'll give you a head start.

whats up guys, i know my lap times are accurate and i did win a few races overall
i am racing in the midwest region this year but if all goes as planned i will be in Las Vegas for the fusa race in the end of September and race all the ccs races then as well
i  personally didnt think the track was any slower or more slippery, i liked the change but i know alot of people dont agree but thats just my opinion
