Brian, I would agree I didn't notice it being more slippery or slower either.  I was just noting that I didn't see anyone in the 59s that last SW race . . . which they were doing at earlier events.

Well good luck in the MW.  Phil Neuzil and myself are talking about making the Mid-America MotorPlex round in July.  Maybe we can drag Hartlieb with us.

Anyway, good luck and see you in Vegas for sure.

Im pretty sure that what Tristan was laughing at was the typo in the post....

"The fastest expert times I recall were in the low 1:59's by Mark Ledesma."

But I think T's best time was in the :03s.. I ll check my notes

Scott "Opie" Jackson got down to a 1:01 on his 85th lap on the same rear tire...

Brian was "Halling" some serious azz at that last race, hell at every race! I thought we had him at  a 1:00

Maybe we could get CCS to post the time sheets for this year on line...

Brian, I wont even tell you that its about 65 degrees out today, and has only rained about 5 days this year... Hell, I think it  got down to 38 one night, but only one night!

Yeah 1:03's on a 650...Brian was with the experts in all the races from what I recall. I broke down and watched the race from turn one and Brian would be in turn 3 when the rest of the crowd was coming on to the straight! Too bad I'm not 16 or I would see you at Vegas Brian, good luck. John, no smaK talking, I'll be at Firebird in 2 weeks, anyone else?

SlowDragon

My best there last April was a 1:03 on the 996, and around 4:00 in November. Although the 998 is faster I found that it's just as hard to push.

I'm thinking of coming and pushing my bike around the pits  ;D  or perhaps not. 3 visits, 3 mechanicals.

Good luck guys.

Matt - yellow plate!! Pllleeeaaaasseeee..... where's that petition

CCSRACER123CCS

Simon, if you go to Firebird, hopefully you won't have to leave after practice!
Matt- Were you the guy on the RC51 in the beginning of the year?

bmgracing

Nope, I was the guy right behind the guy on the RC51 at the Streets round.  That was Matt Bullock.  I have no idea what happenned to him last year.  He won all his races out at Streets and then came to Firebird and wrecked . . . that was the last I saw of him.

Simon, no petition here.  I even sent an e-mail requesting that I go to expert and heard nothing back.  After thinking about it, I figured I would just stay yellow until they move me up.  No sense missing out on tire and purse money is the way I am looking at it.  Plus, I'll be able to catch you from the 2nd wave anyway. :P  So would you get your ass down here to Phoenix for the first round so you can prove me wrong!

SlowDragon

Sadly I will not be making the trip to Phoenix this time so we'll have to get together later in the season.

But, is catching someone pushing a bike that much of a challenge  ;) ?  Try some real hard work like chasing Tristan and Brian instead  ;D

bmgracing

Simon you make me laugh!  Too funny . . . I will have to set my goals higher this year.  I will be out at Streets so hopefully see you there.

u-hallmhall@schaum

that would be great if you guys brought Hartlieb
and yourselves to mid america
its a cool track
im sure its nice and warm in Az, were suposed to get 6inches of snow tonight in Chitown
i havent ridden a bike in a month and a half
i think i rember getting in the 100s lap times at firebird but cant be sure without checking my notes which are in my trailor and my trailor is snowed in at the moment
Tristen its good to be young dont rush it, if i dont see you at Las vegas this year then next year i might and you will be even faster then, i wish i was your age haha
good luck buddy

No worries kid. ;) Hey Matt, I won't be at Firebird.  :(Got little money this year to race so it is all up in the air.

I did not know Firebird got resurfaced. Seems to me that would lower lap times. The 1:59's for Mark Ledesma I recall from the first or second round at Firebird last year. The announcer said he had broken the lap record there with that time. Recall he apparently also broke the lap record at Vegas.

In the first round at Firebird my starting lap times were in the 1:08's and my fastest were in the low 1:06's, with one high 1:05. In the round where we went back to make things up a month later, I got into the low 1:04's on my '02 R6. That was my best track last year, where I got my best results.

Rod was doing low 1:02's when he had a huge lead in the amateur UGP race, but then crashed. Brian was faster in overall as I recall (no surprise there Brian). Of course I crashed my bike too and hopped on Terry's Kawi to get some points in sportbike before I limped home, so missed the all the SW round that weekend,  having done only the makeup races.

I never made it to the remaining rounds at Firebird last year. :-[
