I don't think so.

Road America is the same way.  The places cost too much to rent.

ROC includes pit pass AND a free tshirt.

My bad, I am referring to Daytona next month, if they are not included I need enough lead in time to pull mine and Nicole's and pre-enter another event.....gee wiz, I wonder why our sport is dying?

in the past the FUSA entries does not include your gate fee, but the CCS entries do... but the CCS entries are also more expensive than normal. It was something like 125 for first class and 50 each additoonal. or something like that. I wonder why they dont wait til the mailer come out like past years.

my buddy entered for daytona and got charged some amount more than he thought he would, so the entry fees are higher...

R6, we too were "lead" into believing based on the news letter that the entry fees were $70.00 and much to our annoyance when we recieved our statement we saw the $130.00 per event fee and no mention of if that high fee includes the gate/pit charges. Of course further investigation revealed that Daytona fees are $130 for the first event and this information, albeit in bold type, was buried in the back of the news letter (hmmmmmm?) and of course no answer or responce to telephone or e-mail inquiries to CCS, thus this post with the hope that a CCS person will read and respond.

Dying?  You've got to blame the insurance companies.  Insurance costs went up again for race days...they have doubled in about three years.  Daytona fees have always been more than the others, it will just be that way.

Don't forget the tracks. Between the rental and the nickle and dime stuff they've more than doubled in the last decade as well.  Luckily though our sport is oding quite well.  It fluctuates but our number were up in 2003 overall.  It sucks that we still had to raise fees but we have to make the money to pay the bills somehow.

CCS fees did not go up.

Mongo is referring to WERA and their increase.

It would probably help if people would not to the Orgs. to court when something goes wrong. Seems like this happerns every year making insurance go up.

Mongo

The last two years it's all been because of 9-11.  What happened was a lot of insurance companies - the actual underwriters, got nailed hard and paid a lot of claims.  That couple with the stock market drops they lost even more.  We had to switch to two different underwriters that hadn't done motorsports before - so they charged more.  Things should level out or decrease as they get a feel for the marketplace. In the meantime they and the tracks keep charging more.  I know CCS has the same issues.  Neither of our fees have really kept pace with the increased costs.

Sorry if anyone was confused on who I work for, forgot I didn't have a signature on this BBS.

Yes the event fees have been relatively consistant but does that explain why tire prices have dramatically increased over the last few years?

and as a answer to my original thread Linda Hipps of CCS was kind enough to respond with this e-mail :

"Yes the rider gate pass is included in the $130 price"

Thanks Linda... looks like Nicole and I are a go go for Daytona, she is stoked about not having to race the SVs anymore on her Aprilia now that CCS created Ultra Lightwieght Suiperbike.....
