All,

Here are some images of the track configurations that I have found at http://midwestracing.info/heartlandpark/fanguide/configs.shtml:

- Grand Prix (2.5 miles)

- Road Course (2.2 miles)

- Road Course (2.1 miles)

- Road Course (1.8 miles)

I have heard we are going to use the Grand Prix track.  Can someone confirm that?

All of these configurations appear to use the drag strip as the front straight.  Can someone confirm this?  If so, and it rains, what's the surface like?

EX#996

Yes the drag strip will be the front straight and if it rains it will be slippery.

QuoteWe are using the 2.1 mile course.

Good.  I don't like T1 on the Grand Prix course.

Ah, that's too bad.  The 2.5 and 2.2 mile configurations are a lot more fun.  The 2.5 works well with six lap sprints.  Anyway, we're glad to see you coming back to Heartland Park!

It will also be slippery for a good portion of the morning depending on temp. And even then it is still possible to spin it up well down the track especially on the two center lines.
They are looking into taking the dragstrip out of the road course and using what is currently hot pit as the front straight.  Not sure if they were able to get it done in time for FUSA.
One thing is for sure, suspension will be even more critical as well as finding a good line away from the paint stripes.

Anyone know how long the front straight is, in feet? (or miles)?

I've heard it's pretty long.

Using the highly scientific string method I come up with ~1/2 mile

From this picture,

I would agree.

The bigger question is which way does it go? CW

Why?  That make T1 a fast left hander.  Are there elevation changes?
