I blew a head gasket the first race weekend at Roebling this year and requested a refund for the 8 races I had entered. It happened in the first practice session and no races had started yet. I finally got a reply from CCS yesterday:
In reference to your refund from Roelbing Road it was denied per Kevin Elliott.
Now what exactly constitutes a refund nowadays, Does CCS just pick and choose who gets a refund . I spent $300 that weekend and didnt get to race and now I'm told too bad no money back. If CCS keeps this practice up they won't have to worry about refunds due to lack of racers. This is exactly the type of thing that is making me consider switching to WERA. ANybody else having problems like this???

Pick up the phone and call them, perhaps it is a misunderstanding as to why you would like the refund.

We have applied for a refund before and have received some of our money back.

P.S.  If you check over on the WERA board, you will find racers complaining about refunds also.   :P

Timing is everything...there just happens to be a big thread on the WERA board about this.

You should make that phone call to Tiffany Ingram and ask why.  You may not get the money back from Saturday and you will probably lose the money for the first race on Sunday, but you should get the ramaining amount refunded.  It won't be much, but every little helps.  They are all about taking but they sure don't give it back very easy.

I'm in the same boat for a refund after a crash left me without a bike and a broken wrist on a Friday before the races.  Emails, faxes and phone calls haven't made any progress and I've finally given up on the refund out of frustration. I've chaulked it off as $$$ that would have probably gone towards tires for the last two race weekends I've missed.  Unlike you, here in Las Vegas, we don't have a WERA.  I would still race CCS, but it would be nice to have an alternative Southwest Series.

Hey badmonkey!!  Danny and myself are running next weekend at Kershaw for the AHRMA races.  You going?

what weekend is that Trey? and yes I'm interested because I'm not going back to Roebling. Crappy turnouts.
P.S. my motor is pushing 95 H.P. and is running nasty. Went to Summit this past weekend and Keener couldn't pass me in the draft.

from the way i read it you SHOULD get money back you went through tech and you came to them before the racing started...so their own rules say you get money back the only way you would not is if it were "sold out" and i was there it was not...so ask Kevin why you can't ...it's their own rules

3.4 RACE PROCEDURES
3.4.1 Entry Procedures
A. Pre-entry is available to all licensed riders up until two weeks prior to the opening of registration for the
event unless an earlier deadline has been announced.
B. Completed pre-entry forms must be accompanied by US funds (check or money order for American
competitors - money orders only for non-US competitors). Provisions are also made for those riders
choosing to pay for their entries with approved Credit Cards. Pre-entries may be either mailed or
transmitted via fax machine. Fax entries are only available to those who are paying for their entries with a
credit card.
C. Post entry is available to all licensed riders during the hours of registration, which will appear on the event
schedule, unless the race is designated a pre-entry only event. Post entries are limited to the amount of
grid spaces available. When all available grid spaces are taken, an event will be considered "sold out"
and no additional entries will be accepted.
D. Pre-entries canceled in writing prior to the opening of registration will be in the form of payment equal to
100% of the entry fees, less a $10.00 administration fee.
E. CCS-Cancellations of any classes during an event by riders who have been through tech inspection and
who suffer crash damage, mechanical failures, or personal injuries which prevent their continued participation in the events in which they are entered, must be made in writing prior to the start of
racing on the day the entry is scheduled to run. Provided that the cancellation is not for a "sold out"
race, this will result in refunds in the form of entry credits equal to $35.00 per canceled CCS entry. In
all cases the first entry for that day will be forfeited. If the canceled entry is in a "sold out" race,
there is no financial relief. No refunds will be issued at the track. Rider's copy of the entry form must
be attached to the Request for Credit form to process this request.

Dude, I thought you got that handled!!!!   WTF? where is that WERA schedule anyway. CCS has some good people at the track itself (Art and Betty) but other than that, they kinda blow.

I know that you spend just as much money with this organization as I do. Not getting a refund from a weekend that you didn't even see a green flag would send me over the edge personally.

BTW, WERA is running at Summit on the 8th, wanna come up and play ;D - SUZUKI $$$ too - for me at least........

The main problem is that we race for fun and spend our own hard earned money to do it. Everyone else in a position of authority at CCS is in it for the $. Which I can partially understand because I am in a business were "chargebacks" effect my pay as well. What I have learned is that I decide not to refund a persons money, any future dealings (if there are any) are not pleasant. But if I chock it up to customer retention (we racers being customers of CCS) I will have nothing but the best experiences with those customers. So, CCS, please refund Ray his money. So we can be happy monkeys :-*

badmonkey

well still no reply from CCS. guess as long as they have my money they don't care.
