No practice trackday @ VIR [15 June]

Apparently, Cornerspeed is not going to be having the practice day on 15 June before the VIR round.

TPM?  CCS?  Who's gonna pick it up?

I talked to Aaron (Cornerspeed) while we were at Carolina.  He said VIR has raised the track rental amount substantially and refused to budge on price, making it unaffordable for him. There's still a chance that VIR might lower it .. but that wouldn't happen until last minute, if at all.  IMHO someone else with deeper pockets will need to step up for a practice day to occur.

Give it a couple years and there won't be motorcycles at VIR at all. Too much of a PITA for the track and cars guys have much deeper pockets IMO.

This is one of those situations when orgs need to work together and combine their members to make it happen.

I heard that someone had rented the track that day, but haven't seen this on the VIR calendar nor confirmed it directly with VIR.

Just talked to Kevin at VIR.  He is responsible for track rental.

The track has been rented for "Private Testing" on that Friday.  So, practice is not happening for us on that day.

He said that we can enter the track after 5:30pm on Friday.

You?!?  Last time I was there was 2010 and I got two sessions into a track day and high-sided!  This was only my 2nd time at VIR.  This is gonna be interesting and probably very slow.

Got the word Sunday AM at Blackhawk about the car guys at VIR on Friday.  It is going to be very interesting.  Bringing G-Baby from Kansas for the TC.  I crewed there in 2008 or 9? The team hasn't ever been to or ridden VIR and I have only seen it once.  We hope a track walk on Friday, 2 practice rounds, and three LW sprints on Saturday will get the girls on the race line.  Looking forward to the challenge.

That is correct.  Early arrivers can park and wait in the "Raceplex" parking lot. Still tentative but I'm hoping to be able to start issuing armbands at around 4-4:30pm at the gate.  REMEMBER - Cash Only for armbands!  (Many people forget to bring cash)

The schedule says Friday night "early" registration from 6:00pm-8:00pm. I will do my best to get that accomplished.  Don't know if tech will be open too .. still contacting the staff to see who can be there Friday night.

The "track walk" idea is a good one.  Perhaps while airfence is being put up.  We'll see.
