LOVE the new transponders!

Was happy to pay out a few $ for two transponders this weekend at Homestead. Now I don't have to remember to return the darn thing AND don't have to remember to switch back and forth from bike to bike. (Forget to switch, you would get a Dq). Lap time info is super awesome too.. Thanks!!

eyeballs..    they post the sheets after each sesson/race. As i understand it though, there is a website you can log into to see them. I just don't know what it is.

Nice.  Hopefully sooner, rather than the end of the season.

The flag thing is cool, but I think it would be more interesting if you allow people to choose a State rather than a country.  I looked at the results from Homestead and it's mostly American flags.  Of course!

Chosing states may still skew toward the state the track is in, you still have plenty of folks traveling from other states.  And, when it comes to Mid-Atl, you'll have around 6 different states & DC heavily represented.  People can even choose to fly the flag of their native state.

For those of you that raced at Homestead, would you say the new (blue) transponders are any better/worse or more reliable/unreliable than the old (yellow) units? Also, how did the activation loop thing work - was everyone funneled into a specific area to activate the transponders when entering hot pit?

i found em to be very reliable. There were few issues at all, most were due to the rider not mounting the transponder in the right place or going way to fast out onto hot pit not giving the device time to activate the transponder. Yes, you have to head out onto hot pit from a specific area 1 bike at a time.

I had no issues with my two bikes and where the transponder was located. I never took care to make sure it activated and it must have because it scored and showed times for every session.

I mounted the old pouch o the right fork between the upper and lower triple clamp of a Ducati 748 and the Ducati 800

two zipties around the bottom of the upper fork tube worked for me. allows me to look down through the bodywork and see a green blinkin light. Aroudn the upper fork leg I was having clearance issues.
