is there a high failure rate for these warmers? or is there another reason. i had a generator once that made more than 60 cycles and it wiped out my TV and computer during a .naturaly it took some time to realize the real reason for the failure. of course a tire warmer is only resistor so cycles would not affect it but maybe high voltage would.

The manuf. Says bad power can cause the boxes to go bad. There was a batch that had a high failure rate, and I've swapped them all out no questions. I am working with the manuf. on a new design now. Different and hopefully easily replaceable boxes.

Thanks Tdub. I hope you find your way back to our paddocks again soon.

Stick-

I don't know you from Adam, but I do know Noidly, and he loves your warmers.  I have to admit, I was a touch jealous of his set when we were up at R.A. earlier this year.

I worked retail for years at a ski shop, and it is amazing just how many people cannot own up to the fact that any retail item (ANY) can, and inevitabley WILL fail at some point.  If this failure occurs within the manufacturer's alotted warranty period- then it is generally taken care of by either replacement or repair.  After that warranty period is over, well- them's the breaks. I think everyone in the world has had some product fail after the warranty period expired.

Unfortunately, there is always one guy/gal out there wanting to fight things- feeling the manufacturer should warranty items WELL BEYOND the warrany period. :jerkoff:

Case in point- I had a customer buy a fleece jacket.  TWO YEARS later, he came back and wanted a replacement/refund because he burned a hole in it with a cigarette!  This guy pitched a fit, almost screaming, because of a hole HE put in it!  LOL  Had another person buy an expensive (Mountain Hardware) mountaineering jacket, which had a rip-stop fabric (limits the length of a tear) well, he tore it with an ice-ax, and wanted a replacement/refund all while arguing rip-stop really meant "shouldn't rip, no matter what" LMAO.

Now, as a Police Officer, I see that the problem isn't just in retail circles.  Humanity has a problem owning their own shit.  Trust me  on this one!

Don't stress, man. Although I don't have your warmers, I can appreciate, as a racer, you making them, and also making them well (never heard anything but good stuff about your products)

BTW- if Ragingbull doesn't want to take you up on a more than equitable resolution- I'd LOVE to take his cost discount, and would GLADLY buy a set of warmers, using the discount that he so eagerly... well, discounted!!  In fact- I'll go on an internet campaign to bump your good name everywhere this guy posted!

Hmmm, I wonder if  I should take in my 1996 Jeep with 160,000 miles into the dealership and demand they give me a replacement.  Afterall- it should NEVER break, right?  :whine: :wtf:

Cheers,

Thanks. I was hoping that it would work out better. I guess it's just not meant to be.

I'll think about forwarding his discount over.

Hehehe...no way!  That is the best $165 I've ever spent in my life!  You know you love it.

BTW- was good seeing you at the Gateway Rocker's bike night the other night.  We have them there every Wed. night, and there are a bunch of kool-aid drinkers, er...BMW owners in the club!  You'll fit right in!

I hear what most of you are saying and for sure I think my point has been made. And by the looks of how many views to how many posts it may be getting around just like I hoped it would. Already getting a few phone calls on this so whatever happens from here on great as the word is out...

Stickboy as someone who has run a internet business for the last ten years; you will always run into some asshole who will threaten you with blasting your name on all forums to ruin your business. It always seems to be someone who has a low or no post count and does not use their name. Fortunately most forum members recognize this for what it is. Based on your responses here and the support you have gotten from the other members my next set of warmers will be from you...Bob Brown #865 EmpireGP.com

Wouldn't it be ironic if this whole fiasco actually resulted in more sales for Derek!

Actually it will.
Based on how I feel he has handled his replies and his customer service from his writings I'll definately be buying my next set of warmers from him.

I also feel that with such negative publicity as this raging bull guy produced it's still publicity. Publicity and an experience Derek can only learn and grow from.
