Another question regarding pitbikes and usage fees at the track (BHF and anywhere else for that matter):

If you have a scooter/pitbike and it is licensed and insured, do you have to pay the permit fees?

I beg to differ with the "no" answer. As I'm supposed to announce it, per Tommy, all motorized pit veh's must be reg with BHF. Pay for one race weekend or all season. All pit veh's must be operated by a street licensed operator. However, I will again ask for a clarification from Tommy and announce the hell out of it this weekend. NOW! Lets have fun at BHF!!

How is a licensed and insured pit bike any different from the motorcycle I ride to the track?

I haven't been expected to register my street bike with BHF.

Probably because you cant ride a moped to the track. Pretty sure IL is like WI and mopeds are restricted to roads with speed limits of 35 or less.

I have a street legal scooter and I did register it with Tommy BUT I didn't have to pay anything. You do have to show Tommy the insurance papers and sign a form.

Mopeds are restricted to a top speed of 35mph. They are not restricted to roads with speed limits under 35mph. Any road on which you can ride a bicycle, you can also ride a moped.

So as long as you do not use the freeway, you can ride a moped to BHF.

OK, enough about mopeds. The situation is, if i ride my BMW to the track I don't need to register it with BHF but I would need to register my Honda Elite scooter even though it is street legal, licensed and insured same as the Beemer? That is bullshit! I don't care if there is no cost for it. If you must register one street legal, licensed vehicle then you must register all of them or none. I told Tom many years ago I would not register my scooter because it was a legal, licensed and insured vehicle the same as the car he drove in. It's a stupid rule if it's still that way.

Thats WI. IL may have different regs.
