$4000   :ahhh:   ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?!?!

I was planning on around $1200, all inclusive!!!!
Can you break down your costs so I can see what I am not taking into account???  Pretty please???

practice day 175
1st race is like 130
every other race is 90 i think
so 6 races is almost 600
at least 3 sets of tires @ 360 + a set 1080
plus practice tires
race fuel 10 to 15 gallons about what 50 to 100 for 5 gallons
food
driving 1000 miles to Daytona @10 miles to the gallon
hotel about 400 to 600

thats almost 3000

I agree with the first few posters, I was going to estimate with the practice day $4,000.00, hotels aren't cheap down there and either is anything else.  You can cut about 600 off the 4G's if you only race one race.It equates to about a half a season of racing when all is said and done.

No overnight camping in the infield? So much for the FUN factor...
F-that...I think I'll stay home and watch AMA on TV.

So what is your dollar to point ratio there?

I was figuring $400 for 4 races, $30 for 93 octane, 1 set of tires $290 (Power Race Mediums), $175 for practice, $100 in gas to get down there, $60 for food.  How much is camping?

Ok, here goes.

Fuel to and from the track leaving from Rockaway, NJ 2200 miles, figure 10 miles to the gallon and 3.50 per gallon for Diesel fuel.  770/2 = 385 for each of 2 people
Wed-Sunday hotel at holiday inn by the track - 225ish with tax per night times 4 nights 450 per person
Food - 10 breakfast, 15 lunch 25 dinner times six days (one travel day each way) 300
Drinking say 25 dollars per day for the four days 100 dollars (this is very very conservative)

So we are at 1235 before any race related costs

Team Hammer Practice day 225
3 sets of tires (Daytona is very very abraisive) 1080
Garage 1/4 of 300 - 75 it is very helpfu at Daytona
8 races 760
15 gallons of race fuel 180 (going 160mph+ uses up a lot of fuel I may be under estimating)
regular fuel for practices 15 gallons 60

3615 in a perfect world with no crashes, no broken down trucks, no unexpected anything, more importantly no lap dances.  I gave a very rough estimate of 4K, now I'm going to say at least 4K.

I remember back in the day when I was with WERA, 13 yrs ago, and went down to the GNF at Road Atlanta.
Back then it was about $800.

Talk about inflation...
