The cops can?t do anything if they don?t see it.

I don't think that's entirely correct.  First off, in my experience they can always find a way to make you pay.

Second, I think any citizen witness can work with the police to make a "citizen arrest" and they take you away.  All it takes is their witness of the activity, but although I've known of that happening I don't know all the details.  All I know is that I know of one person who thought he got away with some stuff because the cops didn't see it and was actually in deep shit when the police worked with a local witness.  Guess who's word the judge believed.

Mild rant coming... :preachon:
There is this pervasive notion that its the police's job alone to protect society and that to help them is to rat.  Most crimes are solved with the help of the public.  Order is maintained by citizens acting responsibly in society and that includes taking care of each other by removing dangerous types.  The alternative, which we are rapidly approaching, is to have a government crank out laws for every little thing to dictate exactly what you may and may not do, think, say, etc. enforced by a miltary or police force.  At that point we get to live in a nanny state with government making every rule so we don't have to think.

Ironically, I've dialed 911 on the road twice in my life and they've both been this summer.  The first was a pickup truck of drunk asshats throwing stuff at passing cars, the second was to report two people who parked a car on the on ramp to the Dan Ryan and were trying to stop traffic, pretending to be broken down so they could rob or carjack a good samaritan.  (The cops were well aware of these people and their ploy).  I hope my phone call got them out of society for at least a little while.

(Crap...why did I bother to write this...I can't believe I got sucked into this post...) :banghead:

if you all think that 6 bikes doing wheelies is bad, check out the mass disfunction caused by this group called ruff ryders on a major highway somewhere.   the video is on you tube.  idiots did it like bikerboys and stopped the flow of traffic so that they could do stunts and stuff on the freeway.  they did a mass burnout before they started moving again.  there might have been more than 200 bikes during the event.  if only it wasnt a sin to run down someone with a truck....
found the links!

They shut down the whole freeway to do a "STUNT SHOW"

I was driving to Blackhawk once on a crowded I90.  I had my box van at the time.  Traffic was heavy enough that no one could really do anything but stay in line, so I just got in the right lane and cruised there, four carlengths behind the vehicle ahead at 70 mph while the left laners passed me at 75 or so.
I was just driving along thinking about the race weekend ahead when my left ear nearly exploded.  A sportbike ripped past at full pin on the painted line, rolling about 120 and actually ducking to avoid taking off my extended mirror with his helmetless head!  I NEVER saw this guy coming, and was so startled that I swerved 2 wheels onto the shoulder momentarily.  As I gathered it up I nearly killed the two buddies who were following the first idiot.
Now I had my full race program in the back of that Box van and was headed to the track.  I was thinking about racing as this incident happened.  Instantly, I was mad enough to KILL these morons.  If anyone on that highway might have been sympathetic to those riders and their "plight" of not having anywhere to excercise their sportbikes, it would have been me.  Nope.  I was just glad they didn't crash and jam up the highway, causing me to have to wait as they bled out.
No sympathy.  And when I was a street rider, I was quite choosy about where and when I lit it up, both for my own safety and that of others.
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"
