Man, the bad news just never ends for you.....

Chris, I don't know if I have bad luck, or I just complain a lot more than most  ::)

I can still ride, but I am in a lot of pain while on the bike and my hand numbs out.  The more aggressive I ride the worse it hurts and the faster I get disconnected from my throttle/braking.
It has been getting progressively worse for several years (mid 2003), so if it continues to get worse than it is, I am done.  I can handle the pain, but the loss of hand control is getting impossible to work around.  Taking all of the fun out of it.

BUT......
Thanks for all the advice fellas! I feel a lot better about other options.  It was a Chiropractor(sp) that took the Xrays and told me nothing could be done.
I just made an appointment for tommorrow with my regular Dr, to get a referal to a specialist.
Apreciate the advice and support you guys give.

Super Dave

What EXACTLY is he saying is the problem?

I have cronic problems that flare up.  Some times, I have to slow down or even pull off because of them.  I thought that I needed a forearm faciotomy.  Consulted a specialist, and we went another route in a direction that I didn't expect.  Currently, things are better.  I've changed things several times over several years to make things work.

Keep in touch with me.

Racing career over?!!! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor??  No!, and it's not over now!  Okay, maybe John Blutarski, Bluto to his friends, does it a little better than me, but I still hope all goes well with your referral to the specialist.  And along the misery loves company line, I gotta go back for an MRI, orthopedic surgeon is concerned the hip might be dying from lack of blood flow following the wad at Daytona where the ol legs got sucked out of their sockets, so we'll both be headin for second opinions, waiting rooms, co-payments, endless radiation, and hopefully...some good news.  Art.

Damn!  Keep up hope man.  Seems like nowadays you have to force the doctor to treat you instead of him doing it on his own.

Keep going until you find someone who will help.

Update:

Went to my normal Dr, he said the Chiropracter's X-rays shows nothing except I had arthritus in my wrist and fingers, was immpossible to diagnose the numbing hand from the X-rays, said the Chiropracter was full-of-it.....just wanted to make money selling me visits and supplements.

Got an MRI, my wrist is bashed up from years ago, but other than arthritus pain ... is unrelated to numbness issues.
He thinks it is probably a forearm tendon(itis) causing the issue in the wrist/hand.  I am going in for some sort of a nerve-test in a couple of weeks too.
He said he is almost positive this will be fixable.
I feel better.

Like Dave said, go to a sports ortho. There are all kinds of ways to fix problems like that now.  The wrong ortho will tell you to quit, the right one will figure out how to get you back out there.
I agree with hawk.
