Hey, I know Kawasaki made a great ZX6R 636 and ZX6RR 600 but what are they waiting for....  Now that they have proven they can build one hell of a MW Supersport Bike why not use the technology from the 05' 636 and bore it up to a 750.  Could you imagine a fuel injected 750 on the 636 chasis in HW Supersport and HW Superbike.  Can you say UNREAL.  I've tried to find a way to send a opinoin to KAWASAKI but they don't have a sight for CONTACT US.....
Seriously, Suzuki is kicking Kawai's #*@ because they put their 636 up against a 750.  Why not put a 750 against a 750.  We all know with the technology they have today it would be an awsome 750.  I say Bring back the ZX7R/RR with Fuel Injection and the new chasis and suspension components and watch out sales dept. and also race fans......

Probably because Suzuki kept theirs current.  The ZX7 was getting very long in the tooth when Kawi ended production.  Honda just had the homologation special RC30/45 unless you count the VFR.  Same story with the R7, though the YZF750 did exist, I don't know that it was widely raced.

The only other factory that really had a widely available 750 recently was Kawasaki.  I think if they'd continued development, they'd still be selling in similar numbers to the GSXR.  It needed a complete revamp ala the ZX6 & 10 though.  I'm guessing Kawi just didn't see a return in that investment and decided to punch to 636 instead.

I too hope the ZX7 makes a comeback, but the others weren't really in the marketplace.

Even when the Suzuki GSXR750 kind of sucked, we bought them because American Suzuki consistently paid money for contingency.  Started in 1986, and they haven't stopped.  At times, other manufactures might have had a better bike, but because of contingency, all the pictures you'd see would be of GSXR's.  And it's easy to advertise the winner of a cup race year after year when only one manufacturer is involved.  It's good marketing.

YZF750 not widely raced?  Yeah, it wasn't extraordinarily fast and the contingency was better on the other side.

No they arent extraordinarily fast, but they handle like a dream. ;D Had my YZF750 out today. 41deg and wet roads and it still was fun even with 65,000 miles on the clock. ;D

BTW Dave, did you just watch "A View to a Kill" and snag the Zorin name from that? ;D

Kawasaki is a customer of ours at work, and I deal ocaasionally with thier product development guys.  It may sound silly but they are very open to ideas and opinions (all the OEM's, except Honda!).  My experiience is with accessories and such, so a whole new model is a different animal, but I will see what they have to say!

Nah.  He was just the first to comment.  I had you figured at Scaramanga....
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

i think ridge has the gist of it.  too much $$ to develop a new model for club racers.  Get Rossi to ask for one, or if Moto Gp goes down to an 800cc format than it may be feasible to use a 750 streetbike as a marketing platform for the technology and begin to eliminate the 1000's.  But development of 3 seperate lines in taxing in R+D money.
