GSXR seems to do well basing 3 different bikes on the same basic platform....
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

When technology advanced to the level where literbikes became legitimate top level racebikes the clock started ticking on the 750's demise.  I think they'll always be avialable for the die-hards, but I don't expect them to ever return to racing at a top level.  600's are just too fast and 1000's just handle too well.  That means that factories will be less excited about making them a priority.

Yes, I understand how the AMA and MOTO GP are using the liter bikes but, don't they realize if all manufacturers would put some technology into a 750 class bike that would open alot of doors.  Racers, the Public street enthusiast, the bigger guy that is just too big for a 600 and not experienced enough to handle the 1000.  They need to offer that medium range bike.  Maybe it could open some doors for racers for Contingency money.  Kawi offers a program.  Yes, I too believe they would sell.  Suzuki has been selling all their bikes 600, 750, and 1000 GSXR's.  It's hard to find one at times.  With the limited amount of 636's, R6's and 6ooRR's not to mention the liter bikes.  When you try to go and buy one you have to travel or have it shipped from bum ville which costs extra.....   I say bring them back.....

Well, Kawi and Suzuki were/are owned as the same company. Not sure where they went with this now, as I believe they may have recently been split again. So, why spend millions to develop machienery to compete with your other brand's bikes? Kawi takes the little AMA bike stuff and Suzuki takes the big stuff; they covered more ground. At least until the new Yamahas came along...

why dont they just make a 636 that dynos 130 hp?

Quotethe bigger guy that is just too big for a 600...
600s are the same physical size as 1000s.  If somebody is too big to sit on a 600, they're too big for a 1000 too.

Unless we're talking about the favorite squid excuse:  "I'm too big for a 600"  which really means "I can't ride and I need to make up for it on the straight bits of highway."
 ;D

Seriously, there are many good reasons to prefer a 750 to a 600.  I just don't believe size is one of them.

Come-on racers... I know ther are lots of us that contend in the HW Supersport and HW Superbike which is limited to 775 CC 4-Cylinder Liquid Cooled.  Now if you want a up to date bike with fuel injection to even think about being competitve in these classes you have Suzuki GSXR 750 (Fuel Injected) and possibly Kawasaki ZX6R 636 (Fuel Injected and money into the motor).  Do you see where I'm coming from.  A stock 06' GSXR 750 puts out 122 HP, A beefed up 06' ZX6R 636 puts out 117 HP, beefed up by about $3000.  Who wants to have to do that.  I know I don't want to have to spend an extra 3K$ just to attempt to be competitive.  I truly hope Kawasaki and even the other manufacturers would bring back there 750's with todays technology.  It would seriously bring the racing to a closer edge of who is the better rider.  Not who has the better machine/ride (Usually someone with sponsors)

Wow, you just want a Kawi 750? There's a Suzuki 750 made by their sister company over at, ahem, Suzuki. So, build a bike, another 750, to compete with your other company's 750...

Do you run Ti sliders or toe guards? Sorry, could not resist.

Did you contact Kawi and what did they say?

you want kawasaki to develop a new bike for about 500 customers to make the "racing" (that virturely no consumer watches) better? That sounds like a specialty built for a aftermarket builder... but then the prices will be about the same as a R7...

Suzuki sells the 750 on the street becasue sometime the 1000 is just not available, or in the cities insurance is much cheaper on a 750.

I haven't seen unit sold demographics in the last year, but I would venture to say 750's are not sold in nearly as many numbers for suzuki as the 600/1000 and they sell out because there are not competitions.

The last time I saw someone riding a 750 I instinctly said "why not get a 1000"... I just don't see the point anymore.

at club racing level, you stand to gain the different between a 600 and a 750 by just doing your every lab consistently.

I understand everyones point hey are trying to get across to me.  I quess I just need to spend some money and Buy a 06' 636 because I'm a Kawasaki freak.  I was just concerned with my weight that's why I look at the 750 a bit more they have the tourge under them.  From what I've learned from certain racers 7lbs of bodyweight = 1 HP less in acceleration.  Unfortunately I'm built like Aaron Yates.  I've never been avle to get below 190.

Buy a GSXR 750, and paint it green if you must,,,,  ::)
