Why only go back to 24th place?  Please correct me if I read it wrong?  I understand the whole beat a guy head to head thing but it does not make sence.

On avg Summit point main has grids of no less than 35 bikes in the AMs.  This will casue people to make worse passes that ever to get into 24th place.  There will be more red flags than ever. Yes one will need to train harder, get more seat time etc to get better.
If CCS is not going to give points back to the last place on the grid then the people out there busting there butt every weekend will be for nothing. That will be the biggest waste of money!!!!  Why race if you feel like your money is being taken for nothing?  If I am right then why race? will it be worth it?

Please correct me if I read the points section wrong.

hahah... ummm.. b/c it's called a "competition", not "let's make everyone feel warm and fuzzy even though they aren't that fast".  :)

question:

Will the total number of points required to recieve the WPB (white plate bump) be lowered to compensate for the reduction in over all points?  If not for example:  One would have to finish an average of 2nd in each of 3 races per weekend for 8 weekends vs essentially mid pack, quite a difference!

has this been considered?  Or here's a thought...keep it the same but no petitions to stay yella?  You CAN however petition UP after your first year should you not go out and whoop everyone's arse!

thoughts?

Tim, I don't know, but I'm sure this might help the situation.

Mel...

Yeah, I'm up for the competition thing.  I don't see why there should be reward much past 15th place, myself, but that's my opinion.  I think most of the goofy amateur, idior crashes for positions areinside the top ten or top five rather than for 24th.

I'll go further and say that riders cause crashes, not a points system.

sorry dave butt on Summit main crash , crash every where.  Its that to get to the 24th place Ams will make bad judgement calls of when to push and pass and when to hold back.  AMs is a place to learn, learn your limits, the bike, the tracks, when to push and when not too.

We only pay points back to 15th and have never had anyone crash trying to get that one last point on the last lap....  I'd even venture to say that anyone battling for 24th or 15th doesn't have the slightest clue what position they're in.
