Since my season started late due to deployment to the desert, I was thinking of racing a few WERA rounds - simply because there are more opportunities for me just due to schedule.  So I was trying to find out if there were options other than the AMB as far as buying that damned transponder and boy was that the wrong question.  I was told all about how CCS was basically a joke, and they just raised entry fees to cover transponder cost, and I could go ahead and race CCS until they go out of business because they don't make us buy transponders. ::)  Are those guys always like that?  I only got to race twice last season (Jennings/Barber) and I couldn't have been happier with the experience.  There were some issues with the team challenge stuff at Barber but I think everyone kind of expected it with 3 regions, FUSA, and USGPRU all running that weekend.

I dunno, I guess I was just kind of shocked to get a reponse like that.  I thought WERA was an amateur club racing organization just like CCS.  Apparently you have no input with WERA unless your bike hauler is an 18 wheeler...

You were acting like a crybaby and got dealt with accordingly.  Do you expect WERA's accountant to get in touch with you and justify transponder costs?

Please stay here.

No, the original posting was going fine until some uppity smartass (not unlike yourself) got involved.

I'd rather people from WERA not contact me at all.  I have my own 6 and 9 year old's.

Please go away.

WAAAAAAAAA!!!!

damn let it die...it's a free market...run with whomever you like.

I run both orgs and there are things that are great about both and things that suck about both...

I'm fairly certain that it's called life.

That's a safe bet.  I doubt this will happen.

Since you followed the advice to come whine here, here's more:
Try the Better Business Bureau.

p.s. funniest was you crying about your thread getting locked over there.  Obviously you haven't met Dawn.  ;D

So....Dan is back and now this. ;D

Honestly, 130 Gunner you took things way over the line by coming on here and bashing WERA. Opinions on transponders are one thing, but bringing your complaint over here is only gonna start trouble.

And Papa just ensured that this thread gets locked over here now too.  ;D

No your question was answered.  You and your buddy over there jsut did not like the answer.

yeah those guys are always like that.  Heres an idea....start a thread over here on CCS's dime bashing them, Iam sure you will get alot of helpful replies.  You are about as cluesless as they come.  WERA makes $0 on the transponders, they sell them for what it costs them, CCS does indeed charge you for them they just wrap into the fees.  Do some looing and you will see that when they went to transponders their price went up.  No big deal but they are not providing them for free.

I am not going to bad mouth CCS, because unlike you I have atleast half a brain.  I hope you enjoy CCS because I would hate to have people like you around bring down the WERA paddock.

None of the that was meant to be in any way a slam on CCS or how they are run.........I do that in the WERA BBS ;D

No, haven't met Dawn.  If that's what it takes, I haven't had a reason to.  Hadn't had one at the WERA board either.  Actually, hadn't had a bit of trouble about anything at any time.  I can't recall Dawn resorting to namecalling and thread locking every time someone says something Dawn doesn't like.  As far as the WERA board - Mongo didn't feel the need to go off the deep end and act like an 8 year old, the other two did.

I don't plan on carrying on a bash session about WERA.  It's not WERA, the only problem was with 2 individuals (not Mongo, who is the only one I feel acutally represents WERA.)  I just thought it was quite funny that according to the sweet valley high fan club over there, CCS is going out of business because they don't make racers buy transponders.

Strick - And yet another one comes along and adds random crap to what I said.  Care to quote my post that remotely sounds like WERA making money off of transponders?  Oh right - I didn't.

And if those guys are always tlike that - I'm not sure how anyone could "bring down the WERA paddock" to a greater degree than that.

And as far as entry fees - YOU brought this one up.  I know what the fees are, no need to rehash them here.

I asked if the AMB transponder was the only one that would work.  Of course it is, I should have known there wouldn't have been another option available.  Then people start bringing up like entry fees and WERA profits, etc.  Someone else went even further and asked why I wanted all the benefits of what the transponder provides but not pay for it - RIGHT AFTER I had said I don't want/need any of that.  Some say it's only $300, and I shouldn't be racing if that's too much.  I say I can only make a few events a year, and that takes away one of those because that's a set of tires.  Tires - I need.  Neat-o lap times I can look up on mylaps - don't need.  Sorry I don't qualify for WERA elite status by buying a new R6 every year and don't think a $300 transponder is a good value.

Read the thread here. I see six posts out of the first seven (In the 7th one, Paige matter-of-factly answered the question without comment.) dripping with attitude, begging for the responses given.
A transponder is required, just like a steering damper is required by WERA. How come I never see threads whining about having to buy a steering damper when CCS doesn't require them?
BTW, don't blame this post on another WERA "Yes man". I'm an LRRS (CCS affiliate) official.

What next?  There's no Santa Claus either?  No tooth fairy?

Come on, everybody knows CCS is a charity and doesn't care about turning a profit.

Our proud daddy of two (ages 7 & 9, right?  I forget) is so clueless he didn't even realize that the part about CCS going out of business was sarcasm.  ::)
