I read both of those SV articles, and well afterwards decided I better keep both my SV's alive and well. I had thought about moving to a FI model, but now will gladly forego the advantages to keep the bullet proof 99-02 versions.

It will be interesting to see if Suzuki responds now after having two articles about the issues with them.

No kidding.  I bought my '03 because I wanted the newer version and thought I'd have it several years.  I don't want to have to replace parts every year for preventative maintenace that shouldn't wear out that quickly.
