Alexa or anyone have info on Olympia jackets?  Saw them in a shop today - hadn't seen them before....    Sales person told me that the original brand name Olympia had been sold to a new group.

Tried on this Jacket:

Really liked the fit, finish and features.

Info here:

Curious if anyone has first hand knowledge of their products.  FYI... this is not the same company that made gloves and other items for a number of years.

Thanks

This looks to be perfectly suitable for street use, but not necessarily for track use. I have not seen one in person, so I'm going by the photos and the description.

They've put in a good amount of goodies for regular street use, like the zip out liner, the reflective piping, and the pockets. This is a clear signal that it's meant for the street. I'ts a decent price point as well.

Hope this helps.

Do or do not, there is no "try".

Thank you Ma'am!

I knew that you had some well founded opinions of various brands based on materials used and construction techniques.  Wasn't sure if this brand had been around long enough for you to have had first hand info yet.

As far as street use....that's what I was looking to use it for.  I have a 1 piece set of leathers that works for track use but not the most convienient for most street riding.

Oops....... I forgot.  No one here rides on the street anymore because it's too dangerous! ;D

Thanks Alexa!

Well, most leathers I wouldn't want to use on the track are acceptable for street use, and that includes the much maligned (by me) Teknics.

The thing I tell people is that leather is THE BEST for abraision resistance, but the textile jackets will do the job for street use, just that they will be "single use". In other words, you won't be able to repair them in most cases if they get  really rashed up. This is a leather jacket, and the feaures are pretty well thought out. Not to mention it's fairly styley.

Don't hesitate to ask any questions. It's my pleasure to help all you guys and chickies out.   :D
