Someone feel free to chime in with the correct procedure to install the front wheel so the axel is aligned properly to minimize drag, and maximize free wheel spin.

I saw a blurb on the Traxxion video but forgot what was discussed.  Can anyone summarize ?  Thanks !

Hey Dan, use locktite red all over the axle. That should solve the problem!

Seriously though, If you haven't removed the forks, this shouldn't really be too much of an issue. It's all about lining up the fork properly.

Do or do not, there is no "try".

Alexa-
I take everything apart... !!!  ;D

It seems like you take a rubber mallet and hit the bottom of the fork legs... ????   ??? ???

spyderchick

Yup, you've got to get them perfectly aligned. Fun and Games! ;D Don't forget the grease!

It can depend on the bike as some do not have a completely freely moving axle such as the honda does.  On my honda, here's what I do...

First off, I clean the dust seals, spacers & axle and re-grease them.  Get the wheel on & Axle in.  Pop the calipers on and finger tighten the bolts just to hold them in place.

Torque the axle down
Torque the calipers
Drop the bike from the stand
Bounce the front end pushing down as well as pulling up, several times.  This will align the forks on the axle (again, it depends on the bike)
Torque the pinch bolts

Whatever you do, clean, grease & always tighten the pinch bolts last.....
