LOL!!!

Just to prove my point that seller's don't always know what they have or what they're selling...

Check this out, the seller say these are '96 forks...  They sure look late model to me?

You would think that since he owned the bike and purchased these as spares, he would have noticed the difference.

I sell all sorts of things that I have little or no information about.  Some of them I don't know what specific bikes they will go to, etc.  Case in point recently were a pair of Valkyrie Interstate tanks.  They looked exactly like the ones in othe auctions, so I advertised that they looked exactly like the others.

I didn't realize it, but these things were worth like $1k each.  I was immediately flooded with emails saying they "were this" and "were not this", etc...  I took a BUNCH of measurements and numerous pics and commented based on the information I had found, then told the bidders it was THEIR responsibility to ensure it was what they were looking for.

In the end, it worked out great.  2 high dollar tanks sold, 2 happy customers...

My long winded point?  You don't have to know what you're selling as long as you are an attentive seller...

Exactly Jeff....

That's why I buy the picture (as long as there's no disclaimer under it), not necessarily the description.

QuoteI'm still not confident that it was the same person.  The dude on my forum readily gave me all of his contact information, and sent me 2 sets of perfect tire warmers, completely unpaid for exactly as advertised...

And I still won't vouch for the guy other than that he did follow through on the one transaction, exactly as promised...  :-/

It seems the FBI would disagree with you Jeff, the guy is being investigated to see how many people he has actually ripped off  8)

Well, cool.  I hope you get something out of him.  I just can't belive someone would actually defraud people and make their contact information (working home & cell numbers and actual verified physical residence address) available...

Even his father is a compulsive lier, he told me he was a police sargent and the FBI person i talked to laughed her ass off and said he was only a councilman  ::)

I think with the warmers he was trying to proove his innocence pubicly but hey if a couple of guys got warmers cheap good stuff :)

Jeff

Either that or I fenced a couple sets of warmers that were hot whether plugged in or not...  :-/
