Has to be embarrasing to stop the start of the race by going mechanical on the grid. :-[ :-[

It's ok...Jesse did really well coming back from that. (Besides, TV face time is good!)

Congrats to both Jesse and Brian Hall on a great race.  :D

Do or do not, there is no "try".

Great race to Jesse, Brian and Dan-O (until it finished early).  We saw Brian a couple times, too, and got over-excited. ;D

Stumpy says regarding Jesse in radiator hose-gate:

"Oh no, I hope they don't make him start from the back of the grid."  I say, "Why would they?"  Stumpy says, "I don't know, maybe for cramping everyone else's style?"  Poor Jesse!  If anyone can handle style-cramping, it's him!  He did great!  ;D ;D

And, a two-wave start in AMA? That was interesting.

I'd say it's a lot better than having a mechanical, then trying to waddle your bike to the side of the track when the second wave comes through...

I'll always think of Scott Ru$$ell when I watch a Daytona start.   :-X

I thought it was kinda funny.  Thinking  "hey, I know that kid and look, he's got +100 people RUNNING like mad! HAHA... GREAT!!!"

At first I thought that Jesse's mechanical was going to be 4&6 motor #6 for the weekend.  Then they said it was just a popped radiator hose.  I was glad to see Jesse was still able to race.  He got some good TV exposure!  :)

I was watching the race at work with my boss, and I had just been telling him to watch Jesse. I had looked away to do something, and my boss said, "hey isn't that the kid you told me to watch there on the side?"

That is the last time I tell people to watch someone.

No cable here...

So, that's the rest of the story, eh?

everyone on grid.  Countdown begins.  Get to 2, engines rev, all in gear...  waiting....  count goes back to 3...  See a bike being pushed to the side.

It was Jesse.

Everyone waited for about a minute and then pandamonium(sp?) broke loose and the crews ran to put warmers on the bikes and fuel in them.

Nice shots of Jim and Jesse's dad wrenching on the bike, pouring bottled water into it and tightening a hose clamp.

5 minutes or so pass.

Second hotlap and restart without incident.

Jesse did it just to get on TV.  ;D
