the dunlop guys recommended 34/36 for 208s, as opposed to the usual 32/29.  Seemed high to me (based on my highside), as I'd run lower pressures in practice, although that was cold day.

anyone else run those pressures and have them seem too high?

anyone use something else that worked well?

Max? that you?

have you called Barnacle Bill yet?

Wow -- the dunlop guy at Homestead told me 31/30 for 208GPs on an SV.  That's what I ran at Daytona, too.

Old808

The Dunlop crew always recommend high pressures at Daytona.  34/36 sounds close to what they told me to put into the 208s in 2001/2002.

the lone SV on Dun-pops!

Clarkie

you have to know a bit about tires and how the Daytona banking effects them, 34/36 is right for Daytona but Daytona alone.

if yu run 32/29 on the banking you will destroy your tires, also if you use a true 'Daytona' tire somewhere else you will crash ;)

I'm the only SV on Dunlops?  Is there something I should know?

Clarkie

Yep, run the pressure they tell you to at Daytona  ;)

No!!! Don't tell him the secret SV racers of America!!!

xseal

ok thanks.

yeah, its me. Alexa already fixed my leathers for Schwantz next week, but I'm going to order a Vanson.  I may be riding an SV next year too.

Super Dave

Those tire pressures are related to the carcass design.  You need to run what they tell you.

They will be different from manufacturer to manufacturer, and even between tires.

Michelin has tires that we ran 22 to 26 PSI in at Daytona.

max, they were suposed to be 34 front, 36 rear, did you reverse that?
i ran the pressure they said all week on the new sportmax gp 190/120, and on the old style 208gpa (european) 190/120, and they both worked and felt great
dunlop usually runs a higher front than rear pressure
