newby going to lvms; looking for info:
track layout, lodging/camping, typical top speeds for an amateur 750 rider, & any other smart remarks...

You'll love the track! They have run it several different ways in the last two years, but are now sticking to one particular way; clockwise. The track is about 2.3 miles with some great high speed corners.

If you are planning on camping, get there Thursday night or Friday morning in order to get a good spot (close to the straight and/or facilities).

Lap times for a newbie might range between 1:35-1:30 (lap record was set by Robert Jensen last year, which was 1:18) ;)
