First off, a big THANK YOU to everyone that patronized ;D me last season. I appreciate your support!

Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to do it again in 2005. The past few years have been fun. It's been exciting watching you guys push the limits. But the short story is that I can't make a living doing this. I've seen a large savings turn into a large debt. I'm sure as racers you can understand.

I've taken a contract which will likely turn into a full-time position. I've been working a lot and it has been a blessing at the time we desparately needed it.

I have commitments with STT and NESBA that I'm going to try hard and meet. I will be at a lot of there events, but not all. I need to have some time with my family. I've considered hiring or partnering with someone with the same passion. But I'm not sure it would make sense.

Anyway, I wont ramble on. I just wanted to let people know that I doubt I'll make very many CCS events in 2005. Hopefully someone like Rick Weaver will take my place.

Again, thank you for your support in the past.

Jack,
It's always been a pleasure to have you at the track and you will be sorely missed.
We'll still be thanking you when we're old and creaky and showing off your great pics of us while we flirt with the old ladies in the nursing home.  ;)
I hope we still see you around the track. If not at CCS then elsewhere.
Best of luck with the new endeavors. You're the best. :)

Sorry to read that you won't be doing pics anymore.

I hope all goes well with the new gig.

Hijack!  (Man, that just never gets old!)  You have been a huge part of the racing experience for so many of us, and a good friend as well.  As I write this, I'm sitting in a room full of your pictures.  Hopefully your new endevor goes well, so you can afford some genuine MV red paint! ;)
We'll miss you Jack.  Your work is a daily part of so many lives.  Just yesterday, I was transferring my vacation schedule from the bulletin board at work onto my SliderPhoto calendar.  Thanks so much for your contribution to the sport.  It won't be the same without you around.
(And any time you do show up, you're always welcome to crash in the Casa de K3!)
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

Jack,

Best of luck on your endeavours. We really appreciated it while it lasted. Come back anytime, you know you will always be welcome. I do think that Rick would do a great job, if you decide to go that route.

Don't give up on your dreams! If an illiterate like K3 can write a book, imagine what you can do!

I remember the old days when IF someone got a picture of you, you were totally thrilled. Jack has spoiled everyone by his most excellent skills and availablity.

Thanks for the memories, and good luck at the new position, you and your lens will be missed.

Do or do not, there is no "try".

Jack,

I hate to see you have to make a tough decision like this.  I understand completely where you're coming from on the time committment this takes and the need to make time for your family.

Because of your shots, there are a ton of people out there who are able to share with their friends and family a taste of what racing is all about.  One of your photos is truly worth a 1000 words.

And that is only the material side.  You have always been a friend to everyone in the racing community and not having you at the track will leave a hole that won't be easily filled.

I truly hope that you are able to work some race dates into your schedule.  You've got a lot of friends who will want to keep in touch.

As for me, thanks for the acknowledgement.  It's probably because of you that I even gave a thought to taking some race shots.  However, I'm facing many of the same issues as you.  I made it to all but 2 races in the MW and GP schedule last year but ended up working for CCS at all of them but one.  I'm facing some tough decisions as well. As it stands right now I have some committments to CCS that aren't 100% solidified.  I had really hoped to make all of the MW and GP schedule again this year except for RA and 1 BFR date.

I would really like to talk to you to see if there is something that would work for both of us.  I'll try and get in touch with you or feel free to contact me at home - recplex@aol.com or work - rweaver@ymcastlouis.org.

Jack, I wish you the best and hope to keep seeing you at the track!
