a certain Mr. Brian Baker?????  I know he had a big crash in Homestead and got airlifted out, I forgot what his injuries were.  Just hoping that he'll be good enough 2 race again this year......It really sucks when somebody has 2 take a copter ride.

J,
Yes, the crash was F___ up. Andy was right behind me and saw the whole thing. It was the falt of another rider that had just entered the track not paying attention. In short I was unconsious for 2 days, with Bleeding on the brain in 3 spots and a blood clot. I was in the hospital for 4 days and the first 2 days in I was listed as John Doe. All I got from Homestead was (MRI, CT scan, MRI, CT scan) one major head trama, and 3 weeks of lost memory. Oh, ya it came with a $21,000.00 price tag, thank god for insurance.  Thats the short version, and yes I am done racing 9 years is long enough. My wife and I also have our first child on the way (May4th). I will be at all the CCS Midwest events with Andy F. Working with Him. FUSA with Andy, Ryan Elleby, and Shawn Higbee all riding for Baker Race Gear, and AMA FX events I will be doing suspension and data acquisition for Higbee's Buell team.

I will be at all the CCS Midwest events, FUSA, AMA, and Nesba Midwest. Providing suspension services, Parts, and NEW for 2005 Data Acquisition.

Thanks for the interest Jes, I hope everything goes well this year for you and the team. See you at the track .

Hi Brian, sounds like a great line up of riders. I'm glad you're getting back to normal. Now you get to wear the team owner hat.  ;) Remember that if you have any outstanding bills after insurance that you can contact Gordy and the Wegman fund. You've been a great supporter through the years, and it's there to help guys just like you.

Do or do not, there is no "try".

Brian and I talked at the MW banquet and we were in touch by email before that. He has good insurance and so far is OK.

Good luck in all you do Brian. I look forward to seeing good results from your riders.

And Jesse....how are you doing? Healed up from the 3 hour get off? I heard you were pretty sore afterward.

Andy_Feu...

The BIG guy gave you the short version.

Such as: Calling me every two hours, and asking how we did in the Team Challenge. "Hey, how did we do?"-- two hour break--"hey, how did we do in the race?"--hour later--"Hey what are you doing? How did we do in the Team Challenge?"--two hours later--"do you stay at my house?"
That and my name was Danny for about a week.

StumpysWife

He's no good at pool now either.   :P

I'm sorry, but the John Doe thing is terrible.  Good thing you had your number on your helmet and a giant "Baker" across your back.

Hope all is going well with Baby Baker!

Dang.... Brian!!!

I'm glad you're recovering well... and congratulations on the new addition!
CCS AM 815... or was that 158?

OmniGLH

Glad to hear all is well, Brian.  Too bad you're not racing next year... you were one of my "hopefully some day I'll beat that guy" targets  ;)  (Though I'm not racing this year either so I guess it doesn't matter!)

Congrats on the baby!

Hey Baker, remember that $100 I loaned to you at that one event just prior to Homestead.  You probably forgot about it, I'll get up to you this week and we can square.   ;D
