Does anybody know offhand if the Michelin's we'll get at Daytona are going to be the new carcass design, or the old carcass design from last year?

Need to make sure my geometry is set right before I head down there.... and I only seem to think of this stuff at 1:00 in the morning.  Somehow I don't think Tom would appreciate me calling him at this hour!

The numbers will be the same on the tire.

And leaned over, the circumference is supposed to be the same.

Where I noticed a difference on some tires that Tom had me test, was that the front was shorter and the rear was taller.  I ended up adding just a couple of "lines" of preload at the time to offset the feel.

Other than that, I don't have many more answers.

The tires are as SD posted above, different height front and rear. As you approach full lean, the tire feels different as well. THere is MORE lean angle available with more grip at full lean. You may need to carry a spare set of toe sliders for your boots, but potential for faster lap times is there.. YOu will want to practice on these tires as they are different. Faster after you get time on em?? hopefully!

As I understood it - the new Michelins are supposed to require the same geometry as last year's Dunlops.

I currently am set up for Dunlops (tried 'em out for 1.5 laps at BHF last August.)  Am I going to need to make adjustments to get to the correct baseline (i.e. go back to Michelin numbers?)  Or is Dunlop geometry a good starting point?

Yes and no.  I don't think either would be perfect.  It's a different tire.  You're kind of starting over.  Talk to your suspension guy.  You know who I work with.
