Is better to dail your bke in on a track that you know or go to a track that you will need to learn?

I ask this question because I will need to dail my ride in but the best person i know that can help me does not live in the area.  So I will need to go to him or bring him to me.

So what to do?

If you're talking about suspension, I suppose it would be easier for you as the rider to assess the changes at a track you know.
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

Depends.

Where do you feel you're at?

I don't mind showing up at a track that I don't know and going from there.  But I'm confident and knowledgeable enough that I know what I should trust, what I don't, and where I should try and lie to myself.

Learning the track is part of it, but you've got to listen to the discomfort that the bike is telling you .  And go from there.

Whatcha think, Mel?

What do I think?
I know what you showed me, I know I don't know enough to do it by myself.  I know a lil.. But I know I need the help of a person that knows more than me.  I may know what i feel but I don't know what change would need to be made to the bike. I don't trust myself

based on what you saw and from listening to me you knew what changes to make. My bike last year was great after you made the last lil change.

I would like it if you would help me again and teach me more.. PLEASE ;D  If its ok with you I just need to figure out if I will need to come out there or if I can get you to come out here.

Oh, boy, yeah...

And that's my huge quandry too...

For four years, I was very under employed.  I did that so that I could get an opportunity to try to teach people here and there some things.

Ok, I'm not cheap, per se, but I certainly recognize that I'm not as expensive as a whole lot of other people and places.

The place that I worked part time at was pretty much collapsing.  I bailed and made some calls.  My program was value priced and underutilized, my opinion at least.  Thought I had something together, then it fell apart, for a new job.  Had to get something going fast.  I'm on to my second job.  Gave my second job an idea of what I was doing, they gave me an idea of pay.  I'm not getting the pay that I was told, so I opened up my schedule by a few days.  I'm  not happy.

I'm looking for something new.  I have two options.  One new possibility, no, I wouldn't be able to make it out.  The other possibility, yes, I would.

Right now, I'm in this total limbo area where I'm very incapable of making promises or decisions.  I have a racing schedule kind of in place.  I've got some dates even for some schools, but between you, Chris, and I, and anyone that really is reading this post, everything is on the table.

Here, this is supposed to be about your bike set up, and I'm lamenting about my problems...LOL!

Mel, what did you get for a bike?  I remember the Dodge truck...bike I can't remember, but I think a Suzuki seemed to be the way you were leaning....

Don't worry about talking about your issues.  We all need someone to listen and understand.
I have had my eye on two bikes( an 03 SV and 04 GXSR 600)

I have been saving as fast as I can but traveling for work eats into it. So I am at reality. Get what ever bike I can the week of March 7th. be it a salvo bike that I need to build or someones race preped 03 r6

LOL, issues....

Yeah, I'm opening up on this thread a bit.  You and Kris...you'd understand.  I'm tired and frustrated.

I'd do an SV all day long, Mel.  Fun, fast, and frugal on tires.  What more do you want?  It's almost a spec class with everyone wanting SV's.  Really, it keeps you from having to update, or feel like you need to, every year or two.

Man......

I just got back from a bike ride!!!  Man Ok .. I got to SD in cally at 2:45 I was on my boys 03 r6 by 3 pm and were rollen to LA...  That r6 is a beast!

I LOVE CALY.. WHY The F***** am I on the east coast!!!!!!!!!!.

I might do the SV

davegsxrold929r

the SV is a total blast to ride., it really is...

 ;)

Super Dave

Mel, the California is a nice place to visit, but, personally, it's a land locked state that thinks everything happens there.

I'm generalizing on my own experiences...

But the Republic of California is just that.  I think there are a lot more open opportunities on the east coast and further.

And just get an SV and have fun. 8)
