Press release on RRW, <www.roadracingworld.com>, from Aprilia declares $10,000.00 for a HWT win at ROC!  Will Jensen buy one for the cash?  (Add in $ for CRA & WERA wins......That's fairly decent money.)

motobenco

Buy one at the discount, ride all summer on the street, tape up the lights, win the ROC, take home the money, new RSV for almost nothing, at least in theory.

Right.. theory is nice, however, racing is reality.

You guys should call an Aprilia dealer.  They have a VERY sweet deal on the bikes for racers.  Let's put it like this, for what it costs to take a 600 and SS prep it, you could buy a new RSV Mille R Factory with all the bells and whistles, and the pricing is set by Aprilia.  All you need is your race license, and to show them 2 different race results, and you get some big time $ off the bike.  Then, after you get the bike, show them another 2 race results, and you get more $ back in cash form, and it's quite a bit.  Call your local Aprilia dealer and check it out if your looking for a new bike.  It really is a hell of a deal on the bike and sponsorship.  Or, may I recommend my local dealer, Detroit Eurocycles.  www.detroiteurocycles.com   Call and ask for Jeff Bottrell.  He's a great guy that really takes care of his customers, and also a fellow racer himself. Plus, he's one of two people that I trust with a wrench near my bikes.   8)

p.s.  Some of you should buy a HWT, otherwise I'll be a class champion just for showing up and not having anyone but a couple people to race against  ;D  Just imagine if I get a class championship.. ooohhh the drama that'll occur  ;D

Uhm... so what you're saying, is that Tray Batey on an Aprilia Mille isn't going to win races  ???  Not saying that Batey will race an Aprilia, but what if he did because of the money.....

Also, I wouldn't knock ANY motorcycle company giving us an oppertunity at $.   :-/

Yes, keyword 'what if'.  I don't recall seeing an Aprilia in 1st place finish in a FUSA/CCS race. THAT'S what I'm saying. Maybe there's a reason there's few of them on the track compared to other bikes, maybe that's what I'm saying.. I don't know.

I'd like for someone to prove me wrong though and win one this year.

Well, how many of you are willing to cough up $17K just for the bike, and then have to spend all the $ to track prep on top of that  ???  That's why.  Same goes for Ducati's.  99.995% of the Aprilia, and Ducati's you'll see on the race track, weren't bought new.  I only know two people other than myself that have bought a new Italian twin specifically for the track.  Most are used because of the cost of the new ones.  That's why the currect racer offer for new bike purchase is so sweet.  You'll have to call a dealer for the exact $ amount, but I know it's quite a bit off the normal price for the bike (street price, not retail.)  I think you'll be surprised.  Especially what you're getting $ for $.   To give you an idea, my 2003 Mille R, when I bought it new, by the time I track prepped it, it would have cost near $20K complete, and that's with a hell of a deal on the bike.

Plus, Italian twins have a higher cost for parts such as rearsests, clip on's ect.   Just recently Woodcraft released them for Aprilia.  Before, the only option was $500.00 Cycle Cat rearsets, and such.  Top $ for everything that aren't racer freindly in pricing.  Imagine spending double for everything.  My Ducati 749s had a Termi exhaust system.  It was a Mid Pipe, ECU, and the exhaust can.  Cost was $2500.00 just for that.  Then, go get it tuned because the ECU wasn't the greatest so there goes another $500.00  Then, $1k for the first major service, which gets done early because it's a "race bike."  Next thing you know, you're $8K in ontop the bike cost just to keep it alive for a season and get new exhaust, rearsets, clipon's, and fairings.
