QuoteI'll be working out of the house while we set up offices down there.  I still have board meetings in Chicago every Friday.  I'll be leaving the bike here, so a friend who always rides with me can bring it to the track with him.  I'm going to do a couple STT days here and there.  I'll be riding a 999R or a Mille R.  I'll be in IL enough to justify leaving a car there.

Surely you must mean something other than literally a board of directors meeting.  Most companies have those monthly or quarterly with subcommittees meeting more frequently.

But even if it is a weekly executive team meeting, here's a suggestion for you Dan that'll make you a cost saving hero.  Alternating weeks or months you (and others who whould have to travel a long way and be put up in a hotel) would just attend the meeting via conference call hook-up.  They work great.  You can even have real-time sharing of information over a computer hook-up if need be.

Your company will save the wasted flight and airport wait time for each person as well as the costs of airfare, hotel, parking, cabs, rental cars, blah, blah, blah.

Go ahead I'll let you claim this idea as your own.  If you'll be traveling from Orlando, you guys will save at least $1,500 per annum.

You owe me another beer.

Which "it" are you taking bets on occurring Dan?

You moving to a new home in Orlando?
You participating as a racer at a CCS race in 2005?
You participating as a racer at a WERA race in 2005?
You attending a CCS race (cornerworker or spectator)?
You racing on a 999R or Mille R in 2005?

Hey whatever happened to hat fancy trailer you wrote about over on the WERA board a ways back (2003?)?

Engineering meetings every week, corporate board meetings once a month, and shareholder meetings every quarter.
I do conference calls daily. Still have to go there though. No choice in that. Too much to do over the phone.  What takes up a 3 hour conference call can usually be handeled in 45 minutes in person. Learned that already.  Plus, all expenses are a writeoff, so nobody really cares.

All of the above.  I sold the trailer since I wasn't using it.

Your knowledge of businss accounting and what makes a business profitable is frightening.

It is never better to incur an expense that isn't an investment (durable good or capital project) just because you can "write it off".  After all, you're not getting back dollar for dollar on your taxes.  It'd be a tax deduction not a tax credit.  For that same reason, it'd be better for you to get reimbursed by your company than for you to rely puon deducting it from your taxes.

If you knew what I pay in taxes, you'd be sick.  I"ll let my account handle all of it.  All I do is sign on the line  ;)

QuoteHmmm...  I don't think so Dan.  I don't believe Bernie would travle all the way to Grattan or Gingerman just for a TD.  Have you done a TD at Putnam or RA Dan?

So H-man... Your telling me that Dan isnt a racer? Only does track days? If that is the case then we have never met.

The only one I will talk to in the tech line is the tech inspector. Unless its someone I race with or know well.

I have only done three track days in my life. Once at R/A when I was an instructor for Monte with Sportbike Track Time.  I taught the novice class.

And twice at BHF. Leon's track day once and one other.

So me traveling to Grattan or Gingerman for a track day is like waiting for the Pope to poop diamonds!
Its not gonna happen!

I am indeed a racer.  I have raced in both WERA and FastTrax sanctioned events.  I haven't done a CCS race yet.  I hold a valid CCS and WERA race license.  Why am I not a racer again?  Cause I don't show up every weekend?  Sorry, I do have work that I have to take care of first.

I only do CCS.... period! So as I said. We never met.
