QuoteI'm not going to say who, because I don't think that it would be fair to him, or a smart or proper thing for me to do.  Think American. ;)  No more clues.

100% agreed.....  it will have just as much, if not more impact for you when you can say it's a done deal!

Hmmmm.....

Greatest racers of all time...

Well, I'd have to speculate.

I was lucky enough to be teamed with Gary Fisher a couple of years ago at Daytona.  He was the guy that crashed on the dirt track race in "On Any Sunday", got up, went to the hospital and they found out he broke his back.  Soaked the cast off six weeks later so he could race.

Anyway, he was a factory Yamaha GP bike guy in the states.  Get out American Racer II and look for him.  He was very good.

Anyway, in 1971 he lead the Daytona 200 for ten or eleven laps before the CR/CB750 he was riding exploded.  That was the bike he was riding with me in 2002.  Mike Hailwood was in the Daytona 200 in 1971.  Gary felt that Mike was the world's best ever motorcycle racer ever.  This comes from a guy that had Wayne Rainey's helmet.  Not a replica, but Wayne gave it to Gary.  That's what he raced in at Daytona with me in 2002.

Anyway, Mike's gone.  Not available.

So, we go to another story.

Gary Nixon, Gary Fisher's sort of "traveling partner", was nearly world champion.  Should have been, but some goofy technicality caused things to end up differently.

Anyway, there was a poll in Europe this year.  They rated the best riders of all time.  Barry Sheene was number one.  Barry died recently.  Nixon was number two.

Some kid named Rossi was number three.

Nixon got to go to the British GP, and he met Rossi.  I think Gary said he reminded Val that he was number two...LOL!

So, I think Gary Nixon might be a good guy.

Just speculation.  I really don't know.

QuoteOne of the greatest roadracers of all time wants to read my book, and then he'll decide if he'd like to endorse it.  Just the thought of this guy reading my stuff makes me want to have a panic attack!  I mean, the dude is a GOD!  Now I'm almost scared to send it to him.  But I will, of course...

Paul want's to know when it's going to get here.....

QuoteHoly Schiznet!  What have I done?

Only defied all odds and chased a dream that most don't have the vision to imagine...that's all.  May you be richly rewarded for it. ;D

Not that I haven't tried a visionary thing or two.  I asked Goldie Hawn out once............ she said no but I think she really wanted to....... ;) ;D

QuoteI'll let that one go because you've taken good pictures of me  ;D

When did Jack start taking pictures of street riders?

I'm going with Fast Freddie!  8)

I saw him race AMA at Gateway when he was on a Ducati.  I was just standing there checking out his bike when he pulled up in a car.  He got out and walked over and started talking to me and signed a picture for me.  Seemed like a class act.

Damn, your good tonight.   ;D  I had pics up on my .mac webpage for a while.  Remember, I caught hell for not updating the "racing pics" labels and putting track day pics in the "racing pics" section.   ::)  Another project I started but never finished. :(

Sorry Dan....

Only photo I ever remember seeing of you had some sort of odd, elongated, tube items that you had attached all over your helmet, leathers and boots.  They almost had kind of a phallic shape to them.

It looked like you had quite an extensive collection of these 'unusual' items.  Heck, for all I know maybe they weren't all yours and you had to borrow some of them from your wife or maybe the guys you like to ride with!

It was a real impressive collection though.  If I had to guess I'd have to say that you must have been collecting them since you were a 'wee little fella.'

You sure did look proud of them!  :P

Nah, KR is too aloof.  I'm guessing Schwantz, for all his incredible skill, he's a regular dude.  I've met him twice and he was very friendly.
