I know several racers in the SW Region that "sneak" illegal bikes through after the announcement at the riders meeting who will be post-teched. I believe a random system should be in place to catch those that cheat the rules. Otherwise, why are there rules?  ???

got me confused...when do they announce who's going to be post-teched - other than top 3 in certain classes?

They will annouce at the riders meeting before the races begin. Some will elect to ride out of spec supersports then...

yea I got that..but I'm guessing that you mean they say which riders/bikes will be inspected? so they know they WON'T get post-inspected?  also other than engine work isn't the pre-race inspection supposed to catch that and that's why we have to bring the pink sheet with us to tech? I run an SV with a GSXR front - and the first thing I always hear in tech is "you'd better not be scheduled for any SuperSport classes" But I guess if you have 2 bikes then you could.... :-/

They announce, what positions in what classes will teched, ie; 1st thru 3rd ex in all supersport, 1st am, etc.

If you feel someone is cheating, you can always put up the money and file a protest...

anything that is a visual infraction you can just mention to the tech guys and if they can see it, they will pull the offenders results.... Sometimes its better if the cheater uses tires and fuel and then doesnt get any result for it...

Or you can just not worry about it, beat them, and take the satisfaction in knowing that you beat a cheater without cheating....

The pink sheet at tech simply verifies that you' re entered in A race for THAT weekend; not which class your bike is legal for. A simply swap of wheels/tires can turn a SS legal bike into a SB, and who does not switch tires at some point in the weekend.

true....

guess those who do sneak through must be
pretty lucky that they haven't been caught..especially if they are winning...would suck to
be DQ'd for something you know isnt gonna pass
post-tech. guess if you want to "win" bad enough you'll do anything...me...I just like to have a clean, safe race.....that's hard enough to do without worring about being caught cheating.

Not really sure i follow...ALL supersport class top 3 have to report to tech RIGHT AFTER THE RACE... do not pass go, do not collect $500.. go straight to tech if you place top 3. Pretty tough to swap out the motor and wheels right as you come off the track in front of the tech inspector. If you go back to your after placing top 3 you could be Dq'd..
