From the Oct. 21 Journal Sentinel: "The Milwaukee chapter of the Porsche Club of America is the first to rent the infield road course of the Milwaukee Mile, using it from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Management hopes the rebuilt track can be a significant contributor to its bottom line."

Has anyone seen the new road course? Is is suitable for CCS racing?

More on the Badger Kart club using the roadcourse, including a description of the course. http://www.milwaukeemile.com/media/2004/09_06_2004_badger_karting.html

Hey Paul - missed that item in the Journal.  Pretty cool, eh?!!

36'  - how wide is BFR?  Guess that's not too bad for bikes.  Imagine that - a CCS race right in our own backyard.

CCS raced on the Milwaukee Mile road course in 1988.  Pretty much ended up being a race between hay bales.

Remember, you're inside a shallow oval.  At least a banked oval gives you some up hill space to keep you off the walls.

Would you really want to eliminate a race at a real road course like BFR to race inside that shallow oval?

This is the reason I don't go to Gateway anymore...  Walls are great for cars.  Not so great for bikes.

I believe that Milwaukee was much worse.

I like the Gateway layout.

I like the Gateway layout too. I wouldn't trade a BFR weekend for an oval infield, but I'd love a few more race weekends closer to home...

Tom, not sure how wide BFR is, but I would think 36' wide would be plenty for motorcycles.

I haven't seen the new layout yet. I know the way it was run before it was terrible.  There are a ton of light/power poles in there, some buildings and lots of fences so putting a track through there could be interesting.

I'll hold judgement until I see it but I would think there would be lots of hard objects in the way.

Didn't some squid on a Harley hit the wall out there during some H-D promotion track ride during the 100th?
