anyone run these? Any crash results?

spyderchick

No crash results that I have seen. There have been some fit problems. On a scale of 1-10 for construction, I would give them a 6 or a 6 1/2. For comparison, Vanson gets a 9 and Teknics get a 3 on the Spyder scale. Joe Rocket gets a 7- 7 1/2.

I'm sponsored through moto-heaven, and our team's full custom sets should be coming in this week.  Can't wait to see the real thing.  Here's the pics that the factory sent.  Took me a few weeks of playing with colored pencils, the template, and flipping through old copies of RRW to come up with this design.  My husband's will look the same except they'll say "Zac" on the front and no "MZGirl" on the back.   ;)

Sorry, but I'm not planning on crash testing them for you.   ;)

MZ Girl,

How much did they charge for those?  (Range, not exact pricing).

There's definitely a lot of artistic detail in your leathers.  The bullseye is hot.

Jef4y, weren't you modeling...er :-/... using these for a while this season?

MZ Girl! Those leathers look awesome! Very very nice!!!
So, how long did it take you to come up with the design?
I might be interested in having a custom pair myself for next  year, the off the rack ones really don't fit that well, even if they are "womens."
HMmmm..ballpark cost?

Jeff

Yes, I have a set.  Anto & I ordered them together.  They're $860/set for full custom.

We both got the very early versions and there were fitment problems with them.  Anto got a new set, and I'm going to have mine re-worked by Alexa.

I can get mine on, but they're too tight in the arms/legs.  I tried to run them until they 'broke in', but my arms were falling asleep...

I believe the fitment issues have been corrected.

The graphics on them are gorgeous.  The double zipper front is very nice.

Here's the contact info:  Phil Caudill at Moto-Heaven is the importer of XES leathers.  Their website is down right now, but you can reach him at phil@moto-heaven.com or 484-951-3128.

For ordering custom XES suits, Phil will send you a measurement form. Then get someone to help measure you so that you can fill out all the info. I filled out the same form 2 years ago for my custom Wintex leathers (also imported by moto-heaven), and they come out pretty accurate between what's on the sheet and what gets done to the suit. So be sure to triple check all numbers that you put on the form. Also, if you wear a back protector or any other stuff underneath leathers, be sure to wear all of that when measuring.

Thanks for the complements on the design!  Took me a few weeks of playing around with it.  The bullseyes were what I designed first (my favorite part) and they got the circles to come out really well.  I played around with color schemes.  Blue instead of black looked too "Captain America."  And after having an all white suit, I definitely wanted black leather for the butt.  Not much of the red on the lower legs will be seen, since that will be covered with boots, but that's ok.  Phil did a great job of taking my sketches off of paper and turning it into something the factory could do.

I'm REALLY looking forward to having a suit with double zippers on the front.  Not that I don't like doing the penguin dance to get out of the top of the suit, but being a gal and racing in the SW, I have to take my suit off lots of times when being well-hydrated!   ;)

Please, when ordering these or any other custom suits, have a professional take your measurements. This can alieviate inaccuracies and assure a proper fitting garments. I will measure anyone for any custom suit for free. Obviously you'll need to make the trip here, I'm not going to fly out to Cali or Mahoupany, PA ;) ;D

And Jeff is correct, I believe the fitting issues have been solved by XES/Moto-heaven.

I still recommend customs from any company for the best fit. Comfort is a big priority when you're going lightning speeds.

Yep, I had a professional mechanical engineer who's well-versed in GD&T do my measuring.   :)
