Just wanted to say that we had a fun time at Gingerman as it was the first time racing with CCS, being a current WERA member.  Despite the morning cold and the confusion of tech procedures, and mounting the transponder in back as opposed to the front forks, it was great racing and was happy to dispell all the rivalry between orgs.

I wasn;t touching the morning practice with a 10 foot pole, rather I signed up for unlimited race and hung out in back to get a leg up on Supertwins.  I got a lousy start in the Twins race, but made up a couple of positions and even made a last lap, last corner pass for fourth but the TLR was down on HP compared to the RC51, so I settled for 5th.  Just glad that you all were helpful with any questions and I'll be back next season running both orgs... Thanks for the fun!!!

Though we didn't meet, I'm glad you enjoyed CCS, lot's of good people! I have raced exclusively with CCS (started in '96) and have only heard rumors of 'the other organization'! ;) ;D

But that reminds me...  I got to meet GSXR Mike this weekend.  Thanks for stopping by!  Always glad to put a name with a face!

Ben, I'm glad your experience was a positive one.  We're really not that bad of a crowd and of course we're not as slow as the Wera board makes us out to be  ;D

There was a WERA racer next to me that said the CCS racers were alot more agressive and did alot more paint swapping (as he showed me several places on his bike to prove the point!). :o

CCS AM 815... or was that 158?

Sorry we missed you.  We always like to meet new people.  Stumpy was busy yelling "There's CornerCamping!" at anyone who had Michigan plates--including his own Mother.  ;)

I appreciate the hospitality.  Espescially the tech official who took the time so help me get the transponder mounted to the tail...

Kim - Did my research on who normally runs the twins class and was disappointed not to have you out there.  Hopefully next year we'll get the chance...

I was pitted in the rear with a blue and yellow IRWIN canopy. Hopefully I'll get the chance to run Road America in the spring and have a good time..

I remember seeing your set-up near the pond and almost coming up to you and asking about the Irwin Tools, but you were busy at the time. I am in manufacturing and the company I work for has built progressive stamping dies for Irwin Tool, most recently for some Vise-Grip components. How do you have sponsership thru them?

The Road America event usually has a very large turn-out, especially if it's combined with FUSA like in the past (or NASB in the way past :)). It can sometimes be a bit cold and/or wet when they have the event in April, but it's still alot of fun and there's usually a number of Pro's there too so competition can be quite intense!

I used to be in Human Resources with Lowe's.  I had a very good relationship with a couple of people at Newell Rubbermaid (they own the Irwin Brand name), and a rep left me a canopy top after I tore mine.  It's defenitely not a sponsorship by any means (I don't want to portray that in any way) but more or less a gift from one of the higher ups just because he was into motorcycles and racing.

I have always wanted to run RA, so that is a major point in joining CCS.  The other is that most of the tracks are only 5-6 hrs from home as opposed to 10 hours to PA, or 13 to Alabama.  With Gingerman, Blackhawk, Gateway, (and hopefully Putnam!!!) it wouldn't be much of a hassle.  Plus with running WERA as well as CCS, that means the oppurtunity to race Mid-Ohio, VIR, Road America, and Barber all in one season.  All I am seriously after is the chance to get better and gain experience.  I started doing a couple races a year in college, then picked up a little more.  After college I picked up a few more races per year, but still haven;t done a full schedule.  With accepting a higher HR position with another company my funds and vacation time have increased, so I plan to take full advantage of it.

i guess that makes a couple of us wera racers trying out ccs at gingerman.

i had fun also....sorry we didn't meet.  i was trying to look around for wera stickers.....

btw...good choice on skipping the practice.  i raced a whole season of wera and never had contact with anyone let alone go down.  and i had a big get together with an r1 on my first ccs practice session....and then had a guy try to outbrake me in t11 later and he went off the track too!!!  crazy!

i am sure it is just a coincidence...not trying to start any wera vs ccs safety debate.
what if the hokey pokey really is what it's all about?

H-man, where were you pitted at? I was only there on Sunday but I took a quick look around the pits and didn't see your bike, but you may have been on the track at that time?
